Kade is a young player with a heart of gold, a great attitude and the drive to keep improving.

He represents everything we love about our club and is shaping up to be a future leader of the Magpies.

⚫⚪ 2027 SENIOR MEN’S HEAD COACH — CHRIS METCHER ⚪⚫

The Laverton Magpies are proud to officially announce Chris Metcher as our Senior Men’s Head Coach for season 2027.

Chris brings an incredible amount of football experience to The Nest — 640 career games, including more than 400 at senior level, along with years spent around successful football clubs and programs.

More importantly, Chris understands where Laverton is heading.

2027 is about building standards, developing our players, strengthening our culture and creating a football program people genuinely want to be part of.

Chris brings knowledge, leadership, experience and a genuine passion for helping players improve. He’ll work closely with our entire football department as we build the next chapter of senior football at Laverton.

This is a fresh beginning for our Men’s program.

To our current players — get ready to work.

To former Magpies — the door is open.

And to anyone looking for a new football home in 2027 — come and be part of what we’re building.

⚫⚪ 2026 TEAM OF THE YEAR — MAGPIES REPRESENT! ⚪⚫

A massive congratulations to Sina Mason and Shae Murphy, who have both earned selection in the 2026 Team of the Year! 👏🔥

Sina dominated through the midfield all season for the Magpies. Tough around the contest, powerful with the footy and consistently having an impact, Sina put together an outstanding year and thoroughly deserves the recognition.

Shae Murphy was just as dominant across the half-back line. Strong, composed and incredibly reliable, Shae continually stood up in defence and gave us drive coming out of the backline week after week.

Two outstanding seasons.
Two incredibly important members of our Senior Women’s side.
And now two 2026 Team of the Year selections. 🏆

2026 TEAM OF THE YEAR SELECTION — ANTONY PASQUA

A fantastic year from Antony Pasqua, who has been rewarded with selection in the 2026 Team of the Year after another huge season in the black and white.

Taking on the role of Vice Captain and leading the way in the ruck, Antony has been a massive presence for the Magpies all season. Week after week he competed hard, gave his midfielders first use and continued to battle regardless of the scoreboard.

But his contribution went well beyond his work in the ruck. As Vice Captain, Antony embraced the responsibility of helping lead the group, supporting his teammates and setting the standard with his commitment to the club.

A loyal Magpie and quality clubman who always puts the team first, this recognition is a great reward for a fantastic individual season.

Congratulations Antony on your 2026 Team of the Year selection! 🖤🤍

To all returning players, new recruits and anyone considering a fresh start in 2027 this Thursday night is your chance to hear exactly where the Laverton Magpies are heading.

Come down and hear directly from our Senior Coach and Reserves Coach in an open mic session about the direction, expectations and vision for our 2027 Men’s Football Program.

The Laverton Magpies Football Netball Club invites all fully financial members to attend our 2026 Annual General Meeting.

As we continue building towards 2027 and beyond, we’re looking for passionate people who want to have a say, support their club and help shape our future.

The Laverton Magpies are exploring the opportunity to introduce Junior Basketball, and we need our community to help us show there is demand!

We have been in discussions with the competition about potentially entering teams. While places will depend on available capacity, we now want to find out how many GIRLS AND BOYS would be interested in becoming a Magpie basketballer.

🏀 Under 8 Mixed – Born 2020 & 2021
Optional eligibility if born after 25 March 2019 for Summer Season
🏀 Under 10 Girls & Boys – Born 2018 & 2019

🏀 Under 14 Girls & Boys – Born 2014 & 2015
🏀 Under 16 Girls & Boys – Born 2012 & 2013

Whether your child already plays basketball, wants to try it for the first time, or simply wants to play locally with their friends

⚫⚪ 2027 Reserves Coach Announcement ⚪⚫

The Laverton Magpies are thrilled to welcome back a true Laverton treasure, with Rowan Farley appointed Reserves Coach for season 2027!

Rowan’s name is well and truly part of the history of our football club. 100 goals in a single season an incredible achievement that speaks for itself. 💯🏉

But Rowan is much more than his achievements on the field.

He is a great clubman, a great person and an extremely knowledgeable football mind who understands exactly what the Laverton Magpies are all about.

As we continue to rebuild and strengthen our football program in 2027, bringing quality people back into our club is incredibly important. Rowan knows what it means to wear the Black & White, and we know he can play a massive role in helping us build the positive, united and enjoyable club culture we want moving forward.

We couldn't be happier to have him back coaching at the Nest and look forward to working hard throughout 2027.

Once a Magpie, always a Magpie.
