GATOR WATCH | UNDER-12 METRO JAMBOREE

We are incredibly proud to announce that four Altona Gators players have been selected in the 2026 Under-12 Metro Jamboree!

The 2026 Under-12 Metro Jamboree will be held at the State Basketball Centre from 28 September – 1 October, bringing together 60 boys and 60 girls from across metropolitan Melbourne.

The Jamboree is an important first milestone in the Basketball Victoria Metro Pathway, providing athletes with the opportunity to learn from experienced coaches, develop their skills and compete alongside some of Victoria's most promising young basketballers.

All athletes selected have also been invited to join the 2026/27 Future Development Program (FDP), providing continued opportunities to develop as they progress through the Basketball Victoria pathway.

A fantastic achievement for Hayley, Lola, Mehr and Mile, and a wonderful recognition of their hard work, commitment and development.

Led by Director of Coaching Randy Shanklin and our experienced Gators Rep Coaches, these camps are designed to help players fine-tune their skills, sharpen decision making and build confidence before try-outs.

Thank you to our Youth Men for your dedication to the Big V Season 2026.

To our players, thank you for your commitment, resilience and willingness to represent the Gators with pride every time you stepped onto the court. Our boys showed great resilience and tenacity throughout the season, with many debutants from our junior program joining the team and making an impact, along with senior players who continued their great contributions.

This season also saw several players take the exciting next step in their basketball journeys, leaving to pursue opportunities at college. While they will be missed, we are incredibly proud of their achievements and wish them every success as they continue to develop both on and off the court.

A huge thank you to head coach Jackie Gibson and assistants Ally Fitzsimons and Daniel Gatt and team manager Alannah for your leadership, guidance and dedication to the team. We appreciate all your hard work.

Congratulations to our Division One Women, who are Finals Bound!

After an outstanding home-and-away season, our women have secured second place on the ladder and earned the week off before returning to the Altona Sports Centre to play for a place in the Grand Final.

This has been a fantastic season for Coach Randy Shanklin and the team, whose commitment, resilience and hard work have been on display every week. Their dedication has put them in a well-deserved position to challenge for the championship.

We'll be sharing finals details soon, and when the time comes, we'll need the entire Gators Family behind our women as they chase a place in the big dance. Let's pack the stadium and create an atmosphere worthy of this incredible team.
