🔵⚪ Senior football Pre-Season

The countdown to season 2027 is on, with senior football pre-season kicking off on Wednesday 18 November.

We look forward to welcoming returning players and new faces as we get back on the track and build towards a big season for the Roos.

📅 Before Christmas: Training runs on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting 18 November at 5.45 pm.

📅 After Christmas: Training resumes on Wednesday 27 January 2027 and continues on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Thank you, Steve Bews. 🔵⚪

As Steve steps down after five years as Vice President of Anglesea Football Netball Club, we want to acknowledge his enormous contribution to our club and community.

Steve’s connection with Anglesea spans more than 30 years. Since arriving in 1993, he has worn many hats as a player, coach, leader, volunteer and administrator. He played more than 100 games, including three senior grand finals and a reserves premiership, with his involvement extending to Auskick, umpiring and player wellbeing.

Off the field, Steve has helped drive projects that will benefit our club for years to come, including the netball court redevelopment, clubroom improvements, boundary fencing, electronic scoreboard and digital honour board.

His contribution has also included securing Good Sports Gold accreditation, supporting wellbeing and sustainability initiatives, and helping introduce Pickleball, welcoming 50 new social members into our club.

Behind these achievements are countless hours of volunteering, a willingness to get things done and a commitment to making Anglesea a better place for everyone.

Steve, thank you for your leadership, your time and the care you have given our club. Your contribution reaches far beyond a title, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you have done.

SENIOR MEN’S THIRDS FOOTBALL | 2027 🔵⚪

Anglesea Football Netball Club is committed to fielding a Senior Men’s Thirds team for the 2027 season, pending AFL Barwon’s approval.

Our aim is to bring together experienced campaigners and promising youngsters, creating opportunities to develop, share knowledge and keep playing footy while staying connected to our club.

📣 WELCOME JOSS O’MALLEY TO ANGLESEA FOR 2027 🔵⚪

Another exciting addition to our senior netball squad as we welcome Joss O’Malley to the Seas for season 2027.

Joss joins us from Thomson, where she has established herself as a standout defender, playing an important role in the club’s 2025 B Grade Premiership and returning for another season in 2026.

A talented and determined defender, Joss brings valuable experience, strong defensive skills and a winning mentality to our netball program.

We are thrilled to welcome Joss to the blue and white and cannot wait to see her in action on the court in 2027.

🔵⚪ A BIG SIGNING FOR 2027

Standing at 195cm, we are excited to welcome Zayne Galea to the Anglesea army for 2027.

The 23 year-old key forward can swing to either end of the ground and knows how to take a good clunk. With 66 senior games across Point Cook FC and Williamstown CYMS, plus two years with Werribee VFL, Zayne brings some valuable experience to the Seas.

We cannot wait to see you in action, Zayne.

📣 SENIOR NETBALL TRIALS 2027 🔵⚪

Are you ready to be part of the Seas in 2027?

Anglesea Football Netball Club is excited to announce our senior netball trial dates as we begin building towards another exciting season.

Whether you are a returning player or looking for a new club to call home, we would love to welcome you to our senior netball program.

🗓️ Thursday 4 February 2027.

🗓️ Tuesday 9 February 2027.

🗓️ Thursday 11 February 2027.

⏰ Please arrive at 6.00 pm to allow time to warm up before trials begin at 6.15 pm.

📍 Trial locations will be confirmed closer to the dates.

📢 SENIOR NETBALL PRE-SEASON 2027 🔵⚪

The countdown to season 2027 is officially on, and we are excited to get our senior netballers back on the court.

Pre-season training kicks off on Wednesday 18 November 2026 at 6.15 pm, with Wednesday sessions continuing until Christmas.

Following the Christmas break, training will resume on Thursday 21 January 2027, with optional Tuesday sessions also planned.

📍 Wednesday and Thursday sessions will be held at the Anglesea Netball Courts, 25–27 Ellimatta Road, Anglesea. The Tuesday training location is still to be confirmed.

Further details about training times after Christmas will be shared closer to the dates.

Whether you are returning for another season or looking to join the Seas, we welcome you to come along, get involved and be part of our senior netball program for 2027.

📣 LILY MENHENETT RECOMMITS FOR 2027 🔵⚪️

Another exciting recommitment for our senior women’s football team as we welcome Lily Menhenett back for the 2027 season.

Lily’s football journey began at just 12 years old, playing alongside the boys, and she has continued to develop her skills and passion for the game ever since.

With 72 career games under her belt, including 59 games for Anglesea, Lily has become a valued member of our women’s football program.

A 2024 Premiership Player and our 2026 Club Best and Fairest winner, Lily continues to make her mark in the blue and white.

We are thrilled to have Lily back for another season and look forward to seeing her continue to grow and contribute to the team in 2027.

📣 Volunteer Wellbeing Officer opportunity for Season 2027 🔵⚪

Help look after the people who make our club great.

Anglesea Football Netball Club is looking for a Volunteer Wellbeing Officer to support our players, coaches, volunteers and families, helping create a safe, inclusive and positive environment for everyone.

You will be an approachable contact for wellbeing matters, including supporting injured players, promoting positive mental health and respectful behaviour, and connecting people with relevant support and resources. You will also work alongside our coaches and committee to strengthen a caring and supportive club culture.

If you are a good listener, care about people and enjoy being part of a community club, we would like to hear from you. Experience in wellbeing, health, education or community roles is valued but not essential.

This is a meaningful opportunity to make a difference beyond the field and court.

We are delighted to welcome Robbie Hicks, his wife Em and their children, Matilda and Hughie, to Anglesea Football Netball Club.

After spending the past couple of years working, enjoying life as a dad and raising his young family, Robbie has developed the itch to give football another crack.

Not a bad one-pointer to have joining the Roos. 😉
