🎉 10 YEARS OF BOSS BATTLE 🎉

As spring kicks in, we’re pretty proud to look back at the last 10 years and see just how far Boss Battle has come.

From humble beginnings running sessions out of the PCYC, to eventually moving into our first facility.

And that first facility was definitely humble 😂

I still remember winter mornings in our first shed where the inside of the roof would freeze overnight. Once the sun came up, it would thaw and basically rain onto the mats.

There were plenty of mornings spent mopping the ceiling before we could even start training.

A lot has changed since then.

There have been thousands of hours of personal training sessions, thousands of hours of classes, countless rounds on the bags and pads, and thousands of people who have walked through our doors.

People have come in wanting to lose weight, get fitter, learn to fight, compete, build confidence, meet new people or just find somewhere positive to spend their time.

And really, that was always the goal.

To build a place that could make a positive impact on people and give them somewhere to chase their goals.

Looking back now, I’m incredibly proud of what Boss Battle has grown into.

Not just the gym itself, but the community around it.

The friendships that have been made, the people who have completely changed their lives, the fighters who have represented us, the kids who have grown up in the gym, and all the people who have trusted us to be part of their journey in some way.

There have been plenty of ups and downs along the way, plenty of lessons, and a lot of long days.

But 10 years later, we’re still here.

Still growing.

Still trying to get better.

And still just as excited about what Boss Battle can become.

Thank you to every member, coach, fighter, parent, sponsor, friend and supporter who has been part of it. It’s hard to put into words just how much that support has meant to me and to the gym.

Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or walked through the doors for the first time last week, you’re part of the story.

Not quite the week we pictured.

A rough run with pullouts and some frustrating circumstances outside of our control, but that’s the sport. You don’t always get to choose how the week unfolds.

What we can choose is what we take from it.

There are always things within our control to improve, lessons to learn and standards we can raise.

So that’s what we’ll do.

We learn.
We reset.
We set a new standard.
And we move forward.

Proud of Logan for the way he represented Boss Battle on a massive stage against quality international competition. Competing in an Open class final is an achievement in itself and something to be proud of.

🥊 GOLDEN GLOVES WEEK 2026 🥊

One of the biggest weeks on the boxing calendar in Australia.

Over 520 bouts across the event, with fighters travelling from all over Australia and international teams coming in from places like New Zealand and Japan. Massive competition, massive atmosphere, and an awesome event for our team to be part of.

Unfortunately, even with a draw this big, there’s still no one matched in Simon’s Masters division, so he won’t get the chance to compete this year.

Logan was originally set to fight his semi-final today, but his opponent pulled out this morning, giving him a walkover straight into the Open Class Final.

Logan will now fight for the 2026 Golden Gloves title tomorrow against a strong opponent from New Zealand.

Exciting times for our junior team, with this week marking the introduction of our new and improved grading structure.

We’ll be moving away from coloured grading shorts and introducing the traditional Muay Thai Pra Jiad armband to represent each student’s rank.

The Pra Jiad has a long history in Muay Thai, traditionally worn by fighters as a symbol of protection, courage and connection to those supporting them. While coloured armbands are a modern grading system, they give our juniors a meaningful way to display the progress they’ve earned.

It also creates a more practical system for students coming straight from school, sport or other activities, allowing them to easily bring their grade to every session.

Uniform is still expected wherever possible, but students can now wear any of their previously earned coloured shorts as regular training shorts, in whichever colour they prefer.

A fresh look for the system, with the same standards behind every grade. 🥊

This is the first major change in a much bigger evolution happening behind the scenes, with a full Boss Battle relaunch and upgrades across the entire gym experience on the way.

🏆 26’ Boxing Australia Nationals 🏆

Our Nationals campaign came to an end in the semi-finals after a split decision loss to the eventual champion.

An epic experience for Logan, being surrounded by the team and some of the best young athletes in the country.

To reach this level after only around 2.5 years of competing is a huge testament to his work ethic, dedication and how far he has come in such a short time.

A massive shoutout to the BANSW coaches and the whole team for looking after him throughout the week. The vibe, support and connection around this group was something pretty special.

Plenty to be proud of and plenty more to come 👏🔥
