🏉 NSWPSSA GIRLS RUGBY LEAGUE - HISTORY MADE IN CRONULLA!! 💙🩷🤍

This week, Sydney East Schools Sports Association proudly hosted the inaugural NSWPSSA 12yr Girls Rugby League Championships at Cronulla, marking a significant milestone in the history of school sport in New South Wales.

Over three exciting days, more than 200 talented girls from across the state came together to compete, connect and celebrate the continued growth of girls' rugby league. The championships showcased not only outstanding skill and sportsmanship but also the increasing opportunities available for girls to participate and excel in rugby league.

Sydney East would like to extend its sincere thanks to NSWPSSA Rugby League Convener Les Daly, Murwillumbah PS whose vision, dedication and commitment played a pivotal role in bringing this historic event to life. What began as an idea has now become a reality, creating a pathway that will benefit generations of young female athletes.

We also acknowledge the outstanding efforts of Championship Manager, Martin Field, Woronora River PS, Sydney East ground managers, staff, officials, volunteers, referees and the many school representatives who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event was a success.

A special thank you to Tony Ibrahim, Principal of Cronulla High School, and the wonderful Cronulla High School team for their incredible support throughout the event. The provision of the BBQ and coffee cart over the three days was greatly appreciated by players, officials and spectators alike. Your generosity and hospitality played a significant role in the success of the championships.

We were also privileged to welcome former Cronulla High School student and current NRLW player Quincy Dodd, along with representatives from the Cronulla Sharks. Thank you for taking the time to support the event and inspire the next generation of female rugby league players

Sydney East would also like to acknowledge the NSW Primary School Sports AssociationExecutive, Executive Officer, and Executive Director Sylvia Corish for their ongoing commitment to growing opportunities for girls in sport and supporting pathways for students across New South Wales.

Congratulations to every player, coach and manager who participated in this inaugural championship. Each of you has contributed to a significant chapter in the history of school sport and helped establish a legacy that will continue for years to come.

Sydney East is honoured to have hosted the first-ever NSWPSSA 12 years Girls Rugby League Championships and looks forward to watching this event continue to grow and thrive into the future.
