There was a bit more interest than I imagined so I'll do a few more post with tools and other things.

Here's the leather pricked with the irons

•10 to the inch is at the top. All my bridles are done at 10 to the inch whether its a Garryowen or fancy work bridle.

•Then 9 which I dont use very much
•8 is good for stitching the top of stirrup leathers
•7 iron is at the bottom and that one never gets used.

A good quality pricking iron really helps with neat consistent hand stitching.

My short 10 iron was originally John Steele's which I'm sure many of you will remember fondly. Some of my tools have come from wonderful people. Maybe those tools can be in my next post.

Is everyone interested in seeing some of the tools for bridle making? I can do more posts like these if there's interest.

Pictured on the bottom are pricking irons which are used to mark the leather for hand stitching. In the photo are 2x 10 to the inch, 9 and the 8 stitches to the inch.

Top tools are crew punches which are used to make an area for the buckles to sit.

I do love a good close up to show the detail and refinement in my work. This is a zoomed in photo of some lacing on reins.

Some updates on what's going on here

~Dressage bridles I won't be taking on anymore of these for the rest of the year. I do have someone messaging me this month I haven't forgotten you.

~Show bridles I've finally caught up on after being extremely behind. Now is a fabulous time to get show measure bridles sent out and new bridles made before it starts to get super crazy again.

I'm on a little holiday and I'll be back on the 28th of Jan

This year certainly went by at a rapid rate. Somehow 2026 is nearly here already. I hope everyone has a fantastic year with their horses 🐎 next year.

Im going to put a hold on taking dressage bridle orders currently. If I've written your name down for a dressage measure bridle i haven't forgotten you but I'm going to do some catching up before I take on more dressage bridle orders.
