The seat of the teacher is a place of privilege and humility.

It is a position I take with great responsibility

In the tradition of yoga, the guru is often understood as one who dispels darkness and brings light.

My role as a teacher is to create a safe space for others - to facilitate, listen and explore.

The real work belongs to the student. Each person arrives with their own wisdom, their own questions and their own capacity for growth and ability to dispel their own darkness… inviting the light 💫

I may sit at the teacher’s seat, but I am a student too - continually learning from those who gather in the circle, and reminded that teaching is not about having all the answers.

It is a privilege to witness others finding their own answers

And perhaps that is the true honour of the teacher’s seat: not to be the light, but to help others see their own. 💛💫

Perhaps we just need to be present enough to notice. 💛
