Ashfield Pirates FC

Ashfield Pirates FC Ashfield Pirates FC is one of the fastest growing soccer club in the Inner West located in Ashfield.

The Club was founded by Jean Kouriel in 2015 to cater for Grassroots football. Since then, the club has all girls teams and All Age Men's teams as well. Jean Kouriel the Founder of Ashfield Pirates FC has been involved in football for over 30 years and most recently was the coach and age coordinator of the local Inner West club. Due to lack of support from the club and a need for a local club for such a young sports driven community, Jean together with a few local parents started this new venture “Ashfield Pirates FC”

We are very passionate about making this club stand out and be a community football club. We encourage those parents & children that just want to have fun to be part of the game we all love - soccer. We are also very competitive too and we want to really encourage those boys or girls that are "guns" to make the regional teams and become our future Australian representatives. Ashfield Pirates is about Fun, Team Work, Fair Play & Respect and this will be the message to get across the entire club.

🏴‍☠️💜 A VERY SPECIAL PIRATE – CONGRATULATIONS KATHY! 💜🏴‍☠️

Last night at Football Canterbury’s Volunteers Recognition Dinner, we were incredibly proud to see our very own Kathy Thorncraft recognised with the Cec Barlow Award.

Anyone involved with the Pirates knows just how much Kathy gives to our club. So much of what she does happens quietly behind the scenes, giving her time, helping wherever she is needed and always putting our players, families and club first. She never does it for recognition or thanks, she simply does it because she cares.

Volunteers like Kathy are what community football is all about. The countless hours, the commitment and all those little things that most people never see are a huge part of what makes the Pirates the club and family we are today.

Kathy, thank you for everything you do for our Pirates family. We are very lucky to have you and couldn’t be prouder to see you recognised with such a special and well-deserved award.

Congratulations Kathy, this one is very well deserved! 💜🏴‍☠️⚽

We hope all our Pirates are making you feel as special today as you make them feel every day.

From everyone at Ashfield Pirates FC, Happy Father’s Day! 🏴‍☠️💜

💜🖤 THE PIRATES WAY 🖤💜

One hand.
One simple act of kindness.
One moment that says everything about what Ashfield Pirates FC stands for.

Football will always be about competing, giving your best and playing with passion.

But it's also about showing respect, displaying sportsmanship and remembering that every player on the field shares the same love for the beautiful game.

This photo reminds us that the greatest victories aren't always measured on the scoreboard.

They're measured in moments like this.

A young Pirate stopping to help an opposition player back to their feet.

No one asked him to.
He simply did what came naturally.
Because that's the culture we strive to build every day.

💜 We compete with passion.
🖤 We play with respect.
💜 We support one another.
🖤 We have fun.
💜 We enjoy the most incredible game in the world.

To our players, coaches, managers, volunteers and families, thank you for continuing to show what community football is all about.

Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement and every show of respect helps shape not only better footballers, but better young people.

This is the Pirates Spirit.
This is the Pirates Way. 💜⚽🖤
