One freeFORM Board under the upper limbs and one under one knee while lying prone on the floor. The boards are supporting hip abduction in an externally rotated position plus lateral spinal flexion.

I’m now sure I’ll never see the end of the versatility of the freeFORM Board as so many years after its development, I still see new exercises on a regale basis.

Thanks to .gr for the video 🙏

Speed skater into corkscrew. Both require coordination and control, stability from the stable leg through the kinetic chain. The stable leg glute fatigues very quickly.

This was from a Botty Board workshop but it also fits well into a metabolic cardio workout and would good late stage physical therapy exercises for foot, ankle, knee or hip issues.

Shoulder ab/adduction, flexion and circumduction on a Power Plate and freeFORM Board. Typically the sequence would follow horizontal abduction, diagonal abduction and circumduction.

The second video also shows progressions in lever and length and base of support.

These exercises integrate the chest, shoulders and core and require strength, coordination and dynamic stability.

From a workshop delivered to trainers in Virgin Active Bangkok and supported by Sportathlon Thailand.

Ankle plantar and dorsiflexion in a lunge or unilateral hip extension position. Why does this matter? The plantar flexion stretches the superficial front line front the hip flexors to the foot which is more intense and more integrated than stretching an isolated joint. This also means that there is more “slack” in the superficial backline to mobilize the calf’s and Achilles in dorsiflexion.

There is also tension on the front leg hamstring and glute and the exercise also requires a fair degree of stability, especially in the front foot, knee and hip.

Yesterday it was SPEED SKATERS and today it’s MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS which form part of a metabolic cardio workout I call HR MAX.

This is also a very effective core and upper body muscular endurance exercise.
