The trophy stays in the Pyrenees!
Despite some stiff competition from Ballarat in Saturday's last round of the Golden Boule,
Pyrenees were the overall winner of the competition.

A huge thank you to Lindsay and Beverley for your organisation of and ongoing dedication to this very successful initiative.

Thanks also go to Ballarat club for sharing your excellent facilities, to Mt Macedon for hosting the day and to all clubs and members who hosted us or visited us in Avoca over the course of the competition - it's been a lot of fun.

After all the rain Sunday was fine and warmish, resulting in 27 players turning up for a day's Petanque. We welcomed a number of visitors from Bendigo, Maldon and Woodend. A wonderful day with friendly competition, plenty of good humour and banter.
Terence was the winner on the day with four wins, followed by Anne B and Rod tied in second place with three wins.

Yesterday we hosted Maldon Petanque Club here in Avoca for round 4 of the Golden Boule. The weather was chilly but the atmosphere and company warm and friendly.
With the help of our vigilant chair umpire, Alice, Pyrenees were deemed overall winners.

Thank you Bendigo Petanque Club for your outstanding hospitality in Round 2 of the Golden Boule competition.
The rain stayed away, the morning tea was utterly delicious and the games competitive, all played in good spirit.
Well done Pyrenees on conquering the pistes, resulting in a positive outcome.
Best wishes to Bendigo going forward. Your enthusiasm and positivity is commendable. So much progress in such a short space of time since joining the North West region.

Our longtime member and friend Neil Scott passed away peacefully last night after a long illness which he bore bravely and with dignity.
Vale Neil. You will be very much missed by many.
