Last two Wednesdays have been lots of fun. Two incredible sponsors Commercial Tavern and Ayr Friendly Care. Last week 21 ladies played and we had some incredible scores. We ran a stableford comp and a Super 6 side comp, meaning the best stableford scores for six undisclosed holes. This proved very exciting. Some sensational scores 3 players with 40 and above. Congratulations to Ev Webb with 40 pts third, Loretta Mauro 43 pts second and Kathy Cortabitarte with 44 pts. AND our Super six winner was Lorraine Henderson. Run down winners were Elesa Gardiner, Donna Bocca and Donna Reid.

Thie week we had Ayr Friendly Care day - and a huge field of 26 ladies. It was a drawn partner, drawn group day for a split 6 competition. Six holes of best stableford score, six holes of aggregate stableford scores and six holes of multiplied stableford scores. This proved a little confusing but lots of fun just the same.
Our three teams that rose to the challenge were: Third place with 58 pts Tuk Williams and Debbie Searle. Second place with 64 pts were Sharon Bozzetto and Betty Durrant and the overall winners were the pairing of Elesa Gardiner and Heather Desbois with 66 pts.
Our course is closed next Wed for maintenance so we will head to Home Hill for a fun afternoon.

Due to the Men’s Open in Ayr, Junior Golf will be in Home Hill this Saturday morning, 12th September.

9 holes come along for 8am. 3 and 6 holes come along for 8.30 please. If we don’t get big numbers we may group a couple together and do a two ball best ball. See what the juniors would prefer 😊

AYR JUNIOR OPEN 23rd AUGUST 2026

Many thanks to Steph and her crew at Ayr Golf Club for a successful Ayr Junior Open this weekend. Following on from a huge turn out at Home Hill, a beautiful morning was had in the winter sunshine. The mango trees proved a little tricky for some of our visitors, with all our local Ayr Juniors posting some great scores.

Many congratulations to all players who played, we hope you enjoyed the course, and we hope to see you all again in October for the Karrie Webb Junior Masters.

Mango helpers needed. We need some volunteers to help with the management of the mangoes.

What we need is people to walk in the area and stand up the sprinklers. This way, they get better water.

There are 8 sections, and many hands make light work.

Please let us know which area you want to look after, and we will make contact.

The Kemp Family is doing section 7. What sections can you help with? Get in contact or comment below, and let's get it sorted.

PS: No one should be pulling the sprinklers out of the ground; free relief is given if your swing is impeded by the irrigation lines.
