Four meals from one roast chicken and a pretty lovely Friday afternoon in Balmain. 🍽️
Ten of us gathered by the water for a Cooking for One session with Monday Club member and retired Women’s Day Food Director, Jennene Plummer.
Jennene showed us how to turn one roast chicken into four simple meals with very little waste. Then, of course, we sat down together to enjoy the results.
Good food, a glass of wine, plenty of conversation and a few new ideas to take home. This is what Monday Club is all about learning something, meeting people and enjoying yourself along the way.
We’ll be doing more cooking classes and lunches soon.
If this looks like your kind of afternoon, come and be part of Monday Club.

☕ Very good news. Coffee is very good for you.
We’ve been reading Dr Michael Mosley’s Just One Thing, and one recommendation certainly caught our attention:
Drink coffee every day.
It sounded almost too good to be true, so we did a little digging.
And there’s some very encouraging research around moderate coffee drinking and heart health, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline and even some cancers.
But there are a few things worth knowing including how much coffee we’re talking about and why the way you make it might matter.
Coffee drinker? We think you’ll enjoy this one. ☕

We know exercise is good for our bodies but what about our brains?
Join us at Monday Club for a FREE practical session exploring what the research tells us about exercise, brain health and reducing the risk of dementia.
Led by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists, we’ll look at the types of exercise that support brain health, common barriers to staying active, and simple things you can do to keep moving as you age.

YOUR BODY MIGHT JUST SURPRISE YOU 💛
Before you jump into strength training at Monday Club, we like to get to know you first.
Not just your age. Not just the number on the scales. You.
Your Wellness Assessment is a relaxed one-on-one with one of our Exercise Physiologists, using our Technogym technology to get a better picture of where you’re starting from.
We will look at things like:
💪 Muscle & strength – where you are today and what we can work on together
⚖️ Body composition – because there’s much more to your body than weight alone
🚶 Movement & function – how you move and manage the things you do every day
📊 Your Wellness Age – another way to understand where you are now and see how things change over time
And don’t worry, there’s nothing to pass!
It simply gives us a starting point. From there, we can shape your strength program around you so you can get started feeling comfortable, confident and supported.
Then, as you train, we can come back to those starting numbers and see what’s changing.
You might be surprised by what your body can do.
Know where you are. See where you can go. 💛

What started as lunch quickly turned into plenty of laughs, lively conversation and new connections, exactly what Monday Club is all about.
