Maybe this is what HYROX actually looks like for most people.
Nervous about the running.
Worried they’re not fit enough.
Scared they won’t finish.
Wondering what the hell they’ve signed themselves up for. 😂
And then doing it anyway.
We loved asking our members about HYROX because the answers weren’t polished — they were real.
Some have raced. Some are preparing for their first. Some are still firmly in the “ask me again in twelve months” camp.
And somewhere amongst all of that… apparently there are matching bows and free Red Bull. 😂
That feels a lot more like HYROX to us.

A good coaching team doesn’t just happen.
We spend a lot of time thinking about the experience our members have at AMRAP — but the people creating that experience matter too.
So yes, sometimes investing in the team looks like coaching development, sharing ideas and challenging each other to get better.
And sometimes it looks like dinner, a lot of laughs and a Baked Alaska. 😂
And our members feel the difference.
Very lucky to be building AMRAP alongside this crew. 💛
There’s something pretty special about watching this room fill up.
The conversations before class, the noise once training starts, people working hard, having a laugh and doing it all again the next day.
This is AMRAP 💛
Our members take their carbs seriously 🤣
One for the rest of your life... choose wisely.

Going heavier feels like progress. But it isn’t always the progress you need.
Sometimes the best thing we can do as coaches is keep you where you are for another set, another week or another phase and help you get more from the movement before adding load.
That’s the benefit of coached group training.
The session might be programmed for everyone, but how we progress it is based on the person in front of us.
That’s how we coach at AMRAP Balwyn.

August attendance leaderboard is in 👀
Another month of early alarms, busy days, strength sessions, cardio sessions and plenty of reasons you could have skipped training.
Huge shoutout to everyone who kept their training consistent throughout August and to the crew who found themselves at the top of this month’s leaderboard. 👏
September, you’re up.
Good training. Even better with your people.
If you’ve got someone you’ve been meaning to bring along to group training at AMRAP Balwyn, September might be a very good time 👀
Training consistently and progressing aren't always the same thing.
Kat and Deb were already putting in the work. What they needed wasn't more training ... they needed something to change.
Eight weeks later, they're stronger, lifting weights they'd been stuck at for over a year, and clearly still having a lot of fun along the way 😂
Sometimes working harder isn't the answer.
Sometimes you need to look at how you're training.
Got your HYROX Melbourne ticket? Now it's time to do something with it 🚀
With around 15 weeks until race week, there's still plenty of time to get stronger, improve your running, build your engine and get better at the movements you'll face on race day.
HYROX training is already part of what we do at AMRAP Balwyn, with our dedicated 10-week HYROX build starting Saturday 3 October.
If you've got your ticket but you're still figuring out the training part, come and train with us 🔥
Looks fun from here.
Ask them again halfway through. 😂
