Last regular round of the Des Turner Teams Event tonight.

Hard Workers finally broke their losing streak by winning 4-3 against leaders 3-Gen. Jack Malone was in good form winning all his singles and the doubles.

In the other match it was a straight fight for 2nd place and a spot in the Grand Final in November. Chalk It Up took the honours with a solid 4-3 win with Mark Johnson dominating the final frame decider against Jimmy Thomson with the teams locked at 3-3.

Congrats to our Grand Finalists 3-Gen and Chalk It Up. There will be a 3rd/4th placed final between Hard Workers and Scotch Fingers. These matches will take place on Wednesday 18th November.

Well done to Ric and Adam Grunsell on being runners up in the FNCSA Handicap Doubles in Ballina on Sunday. Awesome result.

They played well to get all the way to the final before losing out 2-0 to experienced Ballina duo Ray Wilcher and Mark Murray.

Some of the committee got together yesterday morning to conduct the draw for this years Eamonn Duff Twin Towns Classic.

Scheduling of matches is underway so the times are being planned out. We are hoping that some of the matches can be played in the days before and those players will be contacted to see if they can play early.

The penultimate round of the Des Turner Teams Event tonight and we are all set up for a last round battle to qualify for the Grand Final..

Scotch Fingers were absolutely desperate for a win to give themselves hope of a top 2 finish that will qualify them for the main final. And in a match with many close finishes, the defending champions got the 5-2 win over last placed Hard Workers.

In the other match, leaders 3-Gen kept up their consistent winning form with an impressive 5-2 win over Chalk It Up. That result secures 3-Gen a top 2 finish regardless of results next week.

Chalk It Up slide from 2nd place to 3rd place and now face Scotch Fingers for that final spot.

Scotch Fingers welcome back Jimmy Thomson next week after he missed the last 6 weeks due to work.

Week 7 of Des Turner Teams Event tonight and defending champions Scotch Fingers are the first to falter in the 3 way race for the top of the table.

They lost 5-2 to 3-Gen and that win for 3-Gen sees them go 2 points clear in 1st place.

In the other match, Hard Workers got off to yet another slow start and were trailing 4-0 to Chalk It Up before grabbing the last 3 frames to go down 4-3. Those lost frames could come back to hurt Chalk It Up with only 5 points separating 1st to 3rd.

Night 6 of Des Turner Teams Event and the 'see-saw yo-yo shuffle shuffling' of the top 3 continues.

After two close 4-3 results, with Chalk It Up beating Scotch Fingers and 3-Gen winning against Hard Workers its all change.

Leaders Scotch Fingers drop to 3rd, 2nd placed 3-Gen move up to the top of the ladder, and 3rd placed Chalk It Up are now a close 2nd.

Only 3 weeks left.

Our annual ‘Cricket’ Club Championship took place earlier today with 10 players entered.

After 2 groups competed in the round robin stage, the semi finals were between David Ross (+14) vs Bob Morton (+18) and Dave Dern (+18) vs Cooper Thomson (0).

After blitzing his way through the group, Cooper was favourite to get through but Dave was able to contain the pace attack and put together a solid knock to reach the final with 9 runs to spare.

The other semi was lower scoring as David skittled Bob for a low score to take it 56-22.

The final was reduced to 1 innings each and Dave Dern was able to narrowly get the win of David Ross by a mere 7 runs with a 101-94 result.

Congrats to Dave Dern on the win.
