Is this how it is supposed to feel? Don’t get me wrong, owning a business is bet
ter than slogging away at a JOB, but sometimes it doesn’t feel like the dream it was supposed to be. At first, it’s all about getting clients and paying the bills. Then you get that figured out, and success comes. But then the real work begins. Clients only wanna deal with the Boss because the team isn’t quite as good. So y-o-u end up in every deal, on every call, handling all the messes. What happened to that 4-hour workweek? It’s more like a 74-hour grind. Your team means well, but they need you to tell them what to do. It’s faster to just do it yourself. The business is like a 7-headed hydra. Cut off one head, two more grow back. Vacations? Terrifying. Lose one client, and it hits payroll hard. Always thinking about the business. Tethered to your phone. Not wanting new clients because they just mean more stress and chaos. I get it, because I was there.
“I’m going to become an online coach!” said my younger self, 8 years ago. I had dreams of running my business while walking the beach, sipping red wine at sunset. But reality was 3 am wakeups, endless training sessions, and mounting bills. I invested in apps, eBooks, workouts, thinking this will be the thing. But… crickets. I was living on my mom’s couch at 27. I tried everything: new offers, copying other coaches’ content, “fake it till you make it.” Spoiler alert: I didn’t make it. Lying awake, overwhelmed and feeling like a failure. I wanted to scream, “F*** this online coaching thing!”
Finally, I did something different. And it worked. Now, I’m 34, running a multi-six-figure business with a staff of six and clients all over the world. I don’t believe in balance 😳
Life lately for us has been more work than pleasure - YET ..
That is the season we are in.
There is no work life balance - especially for the big hairy audacious goals we have.
I am finding so much gratitude though, for this season.
Call me crazy but - being able to have a few hours at the beach, soaking in sun, spending Friday afternoons with people who have your back, reflecting on those moments mean the world to me.
Because when I get back home, I go into my dream bubble.
My vision of growing my podcast and one day having my own tv show ( yes you read that right) means I have big things to achieve now… and put in the work.
We have been working together for over 2 years now and TMC is four and a half years YOUNG.
This weekend, I was blessed the humbling reminder that you get what you put in.

If nobody ever disagrees with your content, are you actually saying anything?
We expect the people closest to us to have opinions.
My friends challenge me. My partner challenges me. I can disagree with someone I love and still respect them completely.
So why do we suddenly become terrified of doing the same thing online?
A lot of people are so worried about being judged, unfollowed or misunderstood that their content ends up sitting safely in the middle.
Nice. Polished. Completely forgettable.
You do not need to manufacture controversy for attention, but you should be able to say what you believe.
Because having an opinion gives people something to connect with, challenge, agree with or even disagree with.
And at least they know what you stand for.
Stop trying to be Switzerland on social media.
