Another month is done and dusted, and what a beauty it was!

Our September shoot was held on Sunday the 13th, and thankfully, everything went off without a hitch — always a good start to the day when the only things flying through the air are the targets!

Mother nature was certainly on our side, delivering a glorious spring day for the 61 competitors who ventured out to Barham. With the sun shining, the temperature behaving itself and plenty of eager shooters arriving, it was shaping up to be a great day.

Competitors travelled from far and wide, with shooters making the trip from Wycheproof, Deniliquin, Balranald, Echuca/Moama, Kyabram, Swan Hill and, of course, our local crew. Some had travelled a fair distance to get here, so there was certainly no excuse for not having a good day — although we were sure a few excuses were produced once the scores were being compared!

There was plenty of anticipation as everyone arrived and eyed off the course, wondering exactly what sort of tricks had been dreamed up for them this time. The course was created, maintained and packed up primarily by the Thomas boys, with some assistance from numerous other club members.

A huge thank you to the Thomas lads for all their hard work and efforts throughout the day. We truly appreciate everything you did.
And while we’re dishing out the thanks, our Monthly Sponsor Thank You goes to CAMBRIA STATION CONTRACTING.
So, a very large thank you to the Thomas family for their incredible support and for their contributions in both areas. We are very grateful.
Your ongoing support and hard work are greatly appreciated.

Our canteen was lovingly and ably manned by Liv and her daughter this month. A big thank you, ladies, for stepping up and filling in for this important job keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day. Your help is greatly appreciated.

At times, the office, manned dutifully by Jan and Linda, resembled something of a crèche, with the Storm grandies floating in and out.
Undeterred, the day ran to schedule, and a big thank you to both ladies for their ongoing help and support. Guess it won’t be long before these are the grandies stepping up to become the next generation involved in our sport.

Our 75tgt Handicap event saw a shoot off for High Gun vying between Blair Flight & Will Edge. Once completed, presentations were under way by President Jim ably assisted by Shaun.

R U OK? is something we should ask every day, but September 10th is the official R U OK? Day.
So today, and every day, please remember: you don’t have to go through things alone. 💛

If you’re feeling like you need to talk to someone, please reach out. Whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or someone you trust — starting the conversation can make a difference.

And if someone asks you, “R U OK?”, be honest. It’s okay to say you’re not okay. 🫶

Check in. Listen. Be there.
Because sometimes, a simple “Are you okay?” can mean more than you know. 💛

Wow! Weren’t things bleak this weekend!
With the forecast being spot-on for rains - rain it did! It barely stopped for 24 hours, leaving us with a deluge and some very wet ground.
But this didn’t deter our ever-determined — or, some might say, slightly silly — competitors, who braved the elements to attend our August shoot.
Their dedication (or perhaps sheer stubbornness!) certainly deserves a round of applause.

It was a shame that numbers were so low turning up to try out the superb course set by the generations of Storm family. Our lowest number of attendees ever.
Cody and Em spent Friday at the grounds setting an excellent course, with a great selection of well-presented targets that certainly gave everyone plenty to talk about.
Judging by the comments around the clubhouse, it sounds like later in the year you might have to duplicate the same course, C & E! A great job by both of you and thank you. 👏

This month was our 5th Anniversary of TERRY RYAN MEMORIAL shoot. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the arrival of Terry Ryan’s family was not possible. We look forward to making this right further down the track.
In the meantime, we would like to sincerely thank Terry’s family for their sponsorship and ongoing support. Your generosity and commitment are greatly appreciated.

Our grateful thanks to COHUNA BUTCHERS and THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN SQUEEZE for your ongoing support.

Although the weather was miserable and numbers were low, those who were in attendance enjoyed a very relaxed and sociable day. There was plenty of yummy food from the kitchen to fill our bellies, time to sit (and dry out!) around the fire over a chat, and time to catch up with the office girls.A huge thank you to everyone who ventured out in such horrible conditions to lend a hand. We truly appreciate you making the effort.

With all categories and placings not being filled, and based on the numbers, it was clear early on that the results were in.
Congratulations to Cody on shooting a possible in his second round. Putting together a 25/25 in those conditions on Sunday was an exemplary effort.
Well done, Cody! 👏🎯

Let’s hope our next shoot in September is blessed with some glorious weather!

Day 2 is done and dusted at Bar-Rook for the 2026 Golden Rivers Classic.
Sunday dawned as the perfect winter’s day – mild and windless – ideal conditions for our 282 competitors who were eagerly awaiting what lay ahead.
The first three squads hit the ground at 8:00am, and we were off and running.
There are so many people who deserve recognition for making the weekend such a success. The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes is immense and often goes unnoticed.
Our course setters have been hard at work, not only in the lead-up to the event but throughout the day itself and afterwards as well. From setting up the courses and keeping traps filled, to the arduous task of packing everything away at the end, their efforts are greatly appreciated.
A massive thank you to Doug, Greg, Harrison, Chris and Andrew, who managed Ground A. Ground B was expertly handled by Troy, Jack and Mick, while Pat, Chappy and Steve took care of Ground C.
To everyone else who lent a hand along the way – whether big or small – thank you. Every bit of help makes a difference, and your time, effort and commitment are what help make events like the Golden Rivers Classic possible.

Without our major sponsors, we simply would not be able to offer the wonderful prizes that we do.
We are extremely grateful to CLUBARHAM, BRONZE WING AUSTRALIA and NSI LAPORTE, who have once again stepped up to support us. We are very fortunate to have you on board. Thank you for your continued generosity.

While we're handing out thanks, special recognition must also go to our kitchen crew of hardworking helpers. They did an exceptional job keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day. With so many delicious treats on offer, they were kept busy from start to finish.
A special mention also goes to the mother-and-daughter team of Margie and Annalee, who generously baked up a storm and donated an amazing selection of cakes, slices, biscuits and other goodies. Your kindness and generosity were greatly appreciated.
Thank you all for helping make the day such a success.

On the subject of food, we certainly can't forget our handy team of breakfast cooks. The delicious bacon and egg sandwiches were a real hit and kept everyone well fed throughout the morning. A huge thank you to Eric, Chris, Greg and Harrison, who expertly manned the BBQ and served up breakfast with a smile. To anyone else who stepped in to lend a hand, your assistance was greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

Our office team also deserves special recognition. Jan, Linda and Emily were kept on their toes all day, ensuring everything ran smoothly and on schedule. Their organisation, efficiency and attention to detail helped keep the day under control from start to finish. Thank you, ladies, for your hard work and dedication – a magnificent job well done.

Congratulations to 2 competitors attainting a possible throughout the day.
On Ground B, Round 3 BART BRIGHENTI shot the first 25.
Then Ground C, Round 3 saw JULIAN QUINN shooting his 25.
Congratulations and top effort fellows on your possibles.

Only a couple of shoot offs were needed to finalise placings then results were in.

With presentations underway, President Jim along with Glenn Faul representing CLUBARHAM, took to the microphone with same.

High gun winner shooting a 70/75 was Bart Brighenti. Well done Bart.

The 2026 GOLDEN RIVERS CLASSIC has finally arrived. We wish all the best to Echuca Moama tomorrow, and the same to Pinegrove for Monday.

As you are all aware, we are Day 2 - Sunday, and you all know the drill by now. As Echuca Moama have stated, it is still our Club's responsibility to sight your shooter's license.

🔺It is a mandatory requirement of all NSW shooting grounds that we check everyone's current shooter's licenses, so it reads 'target, clay or sporting etc. shooting.' If it doesn't, you will be required to fill in a Form P650 available on the day from us. This applies to all shooters, whether you are pre-nommed or nominated on the day.
To enable this process, we request that you head into the Club rooms at some stage during the morning and approach where someone will be waiting to check your license.
We would really appreciate your assistance and kindness in helping us achieve this.

🔺If you have previously pre-nommed, you are not required to fill in one of our Club's Nom Forms.

🔺A reminder that if you are intending to nominate up with us on the day, you will need cash for payment - we have no EFTPOS facilities.

Thanking you and are keen to see you all on Sunday.
