💜 Week 10 – OUT OF UNIFORM WEEK 💜
Week 10 is our chance to ditch the uniform and let your dance style shine!
Next week, students can come to class wearing any dance attire they love. Their favourite leotard, dance shorts, leggings, jazz pants, oversized tee, bright colours, funky combinations… whatever makes them feel confident and ready to dance!

We want our students to have a little fun, express their personality and celebrate the individuality that makes each dancer unique.
It’s also a lovely way to finish the term by reminding our dancers that while technique, discipline and presentation are important, dance is also about joy, creativity and being yourself.

One of the things I love most about teaching dance is being able to introduce different styles, choreographers and ways of moving. 💜

Recently in the studio, we’ve been exploring the iconic style of Bob Fosse. His sharp, detailed movements, unique musicality and unmistakable performance quality.

Learning choreography is about understanding where the movement comes from, exploring something different and discovering how each dancer can make it their own.

That’s what dance education is all about.

Today, some of our students are in Sydney taking part in their Cecchetti ballet exams.

Yes, they’re learning ballet. But more importantly, they’re learning to prepare, persevere, manage nerves, step outside their comfort zone, and believe in themselves.

These are the experiences that help shape confident, resilient young people.

Our job isn’t just to teach children skills. It’s to give them opportunities to discover what they’re capable of.

Because every opportunity, every challenge and every experience helps them grow.

We are so proud of you girls.

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Watching our dancers step onto that stage, support each other, perform with confidence and leave it all out there was something very special.

Yes, the placings are exciting… but they are not what matters most. What matters is the growth, the friendships, the resilience, the teamwork and the courage it takes to get up on that stage and perform.

And WOW… did our troupes perform!

Our Cecchetti Grade 6 students are working hard as they prepare to take part in their exams in Sydney later this year.

This additional training complements their ATOD syllabus work beautifully, helping to further develop their technique, strength, musicality and understanding of ballet.

Pupil-free days are the perfect opportunity for extra ballet sessions, and these dedicated dancers were straight back into Term 3 with an early start today 🤍

We are so proud of their commitment and the work they are putting in.
