Thank you Paul Toole MP for coming and seeing the talent this competition has first hand on Sunday. The passion and dedication from both clubs is something that shouldn’t be shut down.

The Member for Bathurst has rightly described this response from Steve Kamper, NSW Minister for Sport as lazy and embarrassing.

The NSW Government has provided significant public funding to NSWRL for initiatives aimed at growing female participation, yet the Minister appears unwilling to question how an established women’s and girls’ competition can be removed when that funding should have been used to expand, not reduce, those very opportunities.

If public money is being used to grow the women’s game, there must be accountability for whether that money is actually delivering that outcome.

Simply calling this a matter for NSWRL is not good enough.

Thank you to the Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole for continuing to demand answers.

And not to be forgotten, the refs.

Without these guys (and sometimes girls too) the games do not go ahead.

Thank you for the day and the work that goes on behind the scenes as well.
