Great news for one of our junior paddlers training to try to be selected to represent Australia, we wish him all the best 🐉

Congratulations, James!

We’re excited to share that James recently trialled for the Australian Auroras dragon boating team and has now been selected to progress to the next stage of the selection process!

Over the next six months, James will attend training camps as he works towards the opportunity to represent Australia at next year’s World Championships.

Having only taken up paddling 18 months ago, this is an incredible achievement and a testament to the hard work, commitment and positive attitude James brings to his training.

We wish James all the very best as he continues his Auroras campaign. We’ll be cheering you on!

Cost: The first 28 days of paddling is FREE using a dragon pass (everyone is eligible for a dragon pass).

Description and focus of program: Team paddling for fun, friendship & fitness. As competitive or as social as you like. Opportunities to represent at region, state and nation levels.

A fantastic weekend just gone 10-11 Oct 2026 with Bathurst members competing at the Sydney International Regatta Centre (Penrith), on Sat in the Western Region team & on Sunday in the Waratahs combined team for DBNSW Series 1. Women's 20s made it to the 500m final and men’s 10 won gold in 500m! Photos: Maggi B. 🐉

Welcome to summer paddling ☀️ Tue evening sessions now 5.30pm on the water, still Thu 6.30AM for the early birds (or should I say early dragons 😋) and Sun 8.30am. Anyone interested in having a go at paddling? No experience needed, equipment supplied, open to all aged 10 & over. First 4 weeks at no cost.
