At Hills District Athletics Club we have qualified coaches for throws. All are welcome to train in throws- from beginners to national level, from juniors to masters. Here are Leanne and Odette who are often seen practicing their javelin and discus skills. They have competed at Masters events and Treloar Shield. Please be in contact if you’re interested in throws.

The Sydney Marathon and Sydney Mini Marathon 5km were held on August 29th and 30th. The results for Hills District Athletics Club runners were:

On 22nd August, the Australian Cross Country Championships were held at Victoria Park, Ballarat. By all accounts, the ground was soaked and the course was covered in mud- check out some of the before and after pictures. Hills District Senior Club had 9 runners and won 1 medal. This is a major national event and an achievement to represent NSW against the best in Australia:

It’s not every day a Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, World and Australian Championship and World Record Holder comes to training. From Brazil to the United States of America to Scotland, it was great to see Isaac Beacroft back in our local area.

Congratulations to Zoe Woods for winning the U20 10k at the Australian Junior Race Walking Championships for a second consecutive year. Zoe achieved a PB of 47:22 and was 6 minutes ahead of 2nd place. She is also the 10th fastest U20 Australian of all time.

Hills native Isaac Beecroft captured the Men's 10,000m Race Walk gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on August 1. He finished the race in 38:45.51 seconds ahead of Kenya's Stephan Ndangiri Kihu.

On 11th July, the NSW Short Course Cross Country Championship were held at the Dapto Cross Country Course. Hills District Senior Club had 13 runners and won 7 individual medals and 1 team medal:
