RIP Jan. I knew you through bowls and as a friend personally. Deepest sympathy to your family. ❤️

It is with much sadness that we mourn the loss of our dear friend and loyal CHWBC Member Jan MacAndrew.

The following is a tribute by Ladies’ Club President, Theresa Potter and Club Chairman, Noel Benson.

Janice MacAndrew, affectionately known as “Jan Mac” passed away on Christmas morning.
Jan joined Castle Hill Bowling Club on the 25th June, 1994. Jan was a very active member becoming a member of the social committee the same year. In 1996 Jan was elected secretary, a position she held until 2005, in 2006 she was elected President of CHWBC and held this position for three years. Jan was on Mitchell District social committee for nine years, the last six years of this time as the Chair of the District Social Committee and three years as District Delegate. Jan became President of Mitchell District Women’s Bowling Association in 2012, a position she held for three years. Jan was also District secretary for a number of years.

Jan’s bowling achievements are great, which included being a member of three winning Pennant teams in 1995, 1996 and 2011. Minor singles winner in 1996, won the Club pairs in 1998 and 2002, runner up in 2003, Club triples winner in 1998, runner up in 2005, Club fours in 1998, 2003 and 2004, runner up in 2011.

Jan joined her husband Gary in the mixed events winning the Mixed Pairs in 1994, 1995, 2003.
Mixed fours winner in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2009.

Jan’s dedication to Castle Hill Bowling Club was second to none and for this dedication was bestowed Life Membership in 2015. Jan recently joined us in celebrating the 60th Anniversary of our Club and was also present at our Christmas dinner on 17th December. She will be sadly missed.

R.I.P. Jan, thank you for your service and friendship.
