JOHN SAXON 1936 -2020
It is with some sadness we advise of the passing of John Saxon.
John was a prolific and successful actor who is best know to the martial arts community for his co-starring role with
Bruce Lee in ‘Enter The Dragon’
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Saxon
Walt Missingham commented: “I have known John for over thirty years, from the first time we met, at his home in Brentwood, we got on well and we would often catch up by email or phone.
He was someone who gave freely with advise and always happy to connect me with ‘the right person in Hollywood’ whenever I asked.
A mutual friend advised me a couple of years ago that he was in poor health so I tracked him down to Tennessee, he was surprised and pleased when I called, he reflected then on his life by saying to me that ‘all good things must come to an end and so it is with life so enjoy it while you can”- perhaps advise we can all take something from”.
Well done John, you will be missed.

Walt Leads Global Martial Arts School Recovery
Two weeks ago Walt Missingham, in his capacity as President of the Martial Arts Industry Association (the Peak Industry Body for martial arts in Australia),
released the ‘Covid Safe Martial Arts Instructor Certification Program’ (www.covidsafemartialartsschool.com).
As Walt explained: “As an industry we are faced with the greatest crisis we have ever had to deal with, I noted that many instructors are focused on the date that they can return to teaching and this is, of course both reasonable and understandable, but this is not the only challenge we face. The far greater challenge is to deal with the very effective fear campaigns waged by both our governments and our media.
The Covid Safe Martial Arts Schools initiative is designed not just to effectively educate instructors but also to give the general public confidence in returning to training with 'Covid Safe' Instructors. The response has been staggering as in less than 2 weeks we have had over 10,000 instructors complete the program(both here and overseas and we are assisting with the broader rollout of the program in many other countries including but not limited to USA, Canada, United Kingdom, France,
Malaysia and Greece. The concept is to first educate instructors on how to conduct a class in recovery conditions, then provide them with processes they can follow and then provide them with the ‘Covid Safe Martial Arts School’ logo that you can use in their advertising, website, social media etc. The program has now been adopted by the Australian Coaching Council who have adapted it to assist all sports coaches, trainers and officials. The Coaching Council version was released two days ago and already over 4000 coaches and officials have bee successfully certified.
The certification program is the hottest topic on martial arts social media.
Walt anticipates that his classes will resume under full training conditions after the 14th of July.
