The winner of this month’s vote is... max pull-ups!

How to enter:
Complete as many consecutive pull-ups as possible in a single attempt using your grip of choice (overhand, underhand or neutral)

Rules:
•Start from a dead hang with arms fully extended
•Each repetition must return to full arm extension before beginning the next rep
•No swinging, jumping, or momentum-assisted movements
•Each attempt must be filmed or witnessed by a Waves staff member
•Open to All-Access Members only

The male and female member with the highest number of consecutive pull-ups at the end of the month will win 1 FREE month of membership! 🌟

Over the weekend our member Ben Haaf completed his very first ultra marathon (an incredible 100km)!

He crossed the finish line in 19hrs & 9mins, placing 112th out of 250 competitors- a true testament to the dedication, consistency and hard work he’s put into his training over the past few months!

What an achievement 🤩

The WAVES community can’t wait to see what race is next on the cards!

How to: Barbell Row 🌟

If you’re wanting to learn how to barbell row, or improve your form, try these tips:

1️⃣ Stand with your feet hip width apart
2️⃣ Grip the bar just wider than shoulder width*
3️⃣ Hinge at the hips until your torso is almost parallel to the floor and brace your core
4️⃣ Row the bar towards your belly button. Drive your elbows back, not out to the sides and squeeze your shoulder blades together
5️⃣ Slowly extend your arms and return to the starting position

*Overhand grip = targets rhomboids, rear delts, upper traps, and teres major
*Underhand grip = targets lower lats, mid/lower traps, and biceps

How to enter:
✅ Complete as many consecutive push-ups as possible in a single attempt
✅ Full range of motion required (chest reaching fist height depth, arms extended at the top)
✅ No knees, hips, or chest touching the floor
✅ Max 5s pause in plank position
⏱️ Attempt must be sighted by a staff member (or recorded)

The male and female member with the longest hang time at the end of the month will win 1 FREE month of membership!

How to: Bulgarian Split Squat 🌟

If you’re wanting to learn how to Bulgarian Split Squat, or improve your form, try these tips:

Set up hack:
1️⃣Sit on a bench and extend one leg straight out in front of you
2️⃣Stand up where your heel lands.
3️⃣Place your back foot on the bench and step into position

For more glute emphasis:
• Slightly lean your torso forward as you lower down, keeping your chest proud
• Think about moving along a diagonal line

For more quad emphasis:
• Keep your torso upright throughout the movement
• Think of your body moving straight up and down like an elevator

✅ Complete a dead hang from the pull-up bar
✅ No re-gripping, swinging, or resting on the bar
