Hills Junior Baseball Association

A clarification to squash an unfounded rumour.

Rumours are commonplace in Hills and are usually incorrect. It is why we do not usually respond to them.

I will make an exception this time. Allow me by crystal clear in saying that players do not have to be playing in a Division 1 competition to be eligible to trial for, or be selected in, a Hills Representative team.

The only requirement is that the players play in the Hills competition. Trials are open to all Hills players

Warboys Cup Trials

Trials for Worboys competition will be Sunday 11th October. The venue will be Colbee Reserve at McGraths Hill.

The dates of competition are 1st, 22nd November & 6th December 2026. Venues are yet to be determined.

U12 @ 9:30am for players born between September 2014 to August 2018. Players must be playing Bergan League or above (live ball competitions)

The intention is to select 20 players - the competition is to be double headers on the three days so we will share the load between players within the squad with everyone playing each day.

U14 @ 1:30 pm
The intention is different in this age group. The preference will be to select one team of Intermediate LL age (DOB range September 2013 to August 2015 and another of JLL age (DOB range September 2012 to August 2014).
This is to give players experience at Tournament play prior to 2027 State LL Championships.
This is in theory what happens in practice maybe different.

Players must nominate to trial by Thursday 8th October.
Information required is Name, DOB, Club and two preferred trialling positions to John Yard at

[email protected]

Players involved in Premier Series & Gaynor Cup are ineligible to trial. Also ineligible to trial are players who have changed Clubs, and or Associations, since 2024 -25 and have not changed residential address.

No Hills representative clothing, including caps, can be worn at the trials.

There will be separate trials for State LL teams

Is also a call for any interested Coaches to nominate. Minimum Coaching Accreditation required is Level B.

We will need assistance on that day. All Premier Series & U13 Gaynor Cup teams are drawn away that day.

A reminder that skull caps are required for all liveball coaches. This is a rule all the way down the MLB and Little League ages. Clubs have been notified so the assumption is that all coaches now know that it is a requirement. No excuses about not having one to fit with 2 weeks to source one.
Coaches pitching for Modball teams or Soft Toss teams MUST also wear a skull cap or batting helmet.

This is for your protection and your coverage under the BA insurance. Just like no coaching accreditation or GameDay registration leaves you uncovered.

Hi all,

Our new website has a a section under rules called ‘Conference Sheets’. This is your best friend for clubs and coaches. People are making assumptions without referring to the actual rules. Please read!

There seems to be some confusion with the rules in few cases. The link below is to the rules section of our webpages.
The conference sheet section for each competition is a particularly useful summary. The figures section shows the field layouts.
