I’m back from my month in India studying at RIMYI (Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute) in Pune 🙏

I saw this statue each time I entered the Institute, in memory of Guruji and his beloved wife, Ramamani. A beautiful reminder of what one man (with an amazing woman behind him) created and the legacy he has left in the world. Hidden behind a very unassuming front fence there is a thriving yoga community supported by both local, as well as visiting students, from around the world who come to experience the world class teachers who are the backbone of the school.

My time there was so rich in opportunity and learning, I have much to ponder on and integrate and I'm looking forward to sharing this with you all in the weeks and months to come.

Classes recommence next week in both Albury and Beechworth. All Welcome 💚

My month at RIMYI has come to an end but the wonderful connections I made with other practitioners and locals will continue 💚 The month finished with a celebration of Guru Purnima - a fitting way to end my time here, celebrating BKS Iyengar and all the teachers who have been a part of my journey so far. So much gratitude 🙏

It’s been the month of birthdays during my time at RIMYI. Prashantji first, followed by Sunitaji and finally Abhijata have all celebrated and it’s been such an honour to be here witnessing how much they are all cherished and loved by this amazing community 💚

I’ve been getting up early and exploring parts of Pune before the busyness of the day sets in. I have climbed up to the highest point in Pune to visit a Vedic Temple and pay my respects to the old dog who greeted me on my arrival 🤎, made a few cat and goat friends along the way and admired the many temples and shrines tucked away in unexpected places. India is a place so rich in history and culture, where everything is intricately woven together into one ever moving stream of energy. I feel privileged to have been a small part of this dance over the last month 💚

A day out in Pune with our most excellent driver and guide, Amin, and a wonderful new yogi friend We visited some of the many shrines and temples found tucked away throughout the city, Guruji’s statue, Osho Garden, found Maria Jose’s new home here in Pune :) and explored parts of the old city too. Amin’s explanations gave us much insight into what we were seeing and made the experience so meaningful and memorable. A good day 💚
