We attended and joined with 100+ clubs from across Queensland to ensure we continue to drive towards greater transparency and access to our great game for players across the state.

It was great to see so many clubs represented and standing united.

Competitive on the pitch. United for the game off it.

Request Football Australia to investigate registration fee increase!

Football is more than just a game. It is a vital thread in our community’s fabric, fostering friendship, teamwork, discipline, and a host of other important life skills. For years, families from all walks of life have benefitted from accessible and reasonably priced registration fees, allowing young players to pursue their passion on the field. However, the proposed fee increase is concerning as it poses a significant financial burden on many families who already struggle with the cost of living.

According to recent data, participation costs are one of the primary barriers for parents enrolling their children in sporting activities. Substantial increases, such as those proposed, will likely lead to decreased participation rates, thereby depriving our youth of the opportunity to engage in physical activities that promote health and wellbeing. Furthermore, these hikes contradict Football Queensland's mission to promote the sport and make it accessible to everyone, regardless of economic status.

We urge Football Australia to take immediate action and initiate an investigation into the reasons behind the substantial fee hike. It's essential to ensure that decisions impacting community football are transparent, fair, and justifiable. A comprehensive review could bring clarity and assist in identifying potential alternatives that could offset the increased costs, thereby keeping the sport accessible and nurturing the dreams of thousands of young footballers.

Let's protect the future of our game and ensure that all children, regardless of their socioeconomic background, have the chance to play and enjoy football. Sign this petition to demand an investigation by Football Australia into Football Queensland’s proposed registration fee increases for 2027. Help us keep football accessible for all.

𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝.

More than 100 clubs have come together with one clear message: major decisions affecting players, families, volunteers and community clubs must be transparent, properly explained and developed through genuine consultation.

Our clubs may represent different communities, regions and competitions, but we are united in asking Football Queensland to:

• Pause the proposed 2027 Competition Access Fee model
• Pause the current Affiliation Agreement process
• Provide full financial transparency
• Consult meaningfully with affected clubs
• Work with clubs toward a fair and sustainable way forward

This is not about resisting change. It is about ensuring that change is reasonable, properly planned and does not place unfair costs, risks or administrative burdens on families and volunteer-run clubs.

We remain committed to working constructively with Football Queensland for the benefit of everyone involved in our game.

Together, our clubs are stronger. Together, our voices must be heard.
