“3 things that happen to your body when you stop moving after 40”
After 40, our bodies naturally begin to change — but movement can make a bigger difference than most people realise.
Regular movement helps support mobility, strength, energy, confidence, and overall quality of life as we age.
The good news? It doesn’t need to be extreme to help 💙
Small, consistent movement really does matter.

Winter is starting to creep in ❄️💛
This is the time of year I always go back to the basics - keeping movement consistent, eating well, and focusing on small daily habits that support energy and recovery.
Nothing extreme… just simple consistency that keeps you feeling good.
Over the next few days I’ll share a couple of the things I personally use in my routine at this time of year. What keeps you feeling energised through winter?-

I started Fitmobility because I believe ageing doesn’t have to mean slowing down and a past injury doesn’t have to mean stopping altogether.
Too many people accept stiffness, limitations, and loss of confidence as part of getting older. But with the right movement, support, and consistency, our bodies are capable of far more than we think.
Fitmobility was created to be a welcoming space where people can rebuild strength, move with confidence, and feel supported at every stage of life.
💙 Our best days are ahead of us.

A few years ago, he made a decision.
Put down the bad habits. Get off the lounge. Start rebuilding his life, one step, one ride, one session at a time.
Since then?
🚴 Charity rides
🚴 Cycling through Europe
🚴 The Great Ocean Road completed
…and most importantly, becoming the example he wanted his boys to see.
What hits hardest for me is this part:
His decision didn’t just change him. It changed the direction of his family too. Thats generational impact.
I was lucky enough to be part of his early training years, back when Monday nights became about showing up, putting in the work, and slowly changing the course of his life. In those early days there was a lot of self doubt. He didn’t believe he could do HIIT sessions or PT, and stepping into that environment took real courage.
One thing he reminded me of recently was something I used to say to him:
“Put trust in the process.”
What makes me proud is not that I said it, but that he truly lived it. Every time confidence waned, every time life felt uncomfortable, he kept stepping forward anyway. And he’s been doing exactly that for the last 8 years.
People think training is just about weight loss or fitness goals, but sometimes it’s about becoming the person your family looks at with pride.
So proud of you mate. You are proof that consistency, courage, and showing up can completely change a life ❤️
If you need help stepping into your life. Reach out. Change is only one decision away.

Did you know that just 20 minutes of movement after lunch can improve your energy levels, aid digestion, stabilise blood sugar, and sharpen your focus for the rest of the day?
It doesn’t need to be intense, a walk, a stretch, or a few simple exercises is enough 💙
What does your after-lunch movement look like?
