Division 1 2026 Recap!! ⚫⚾🟡

Please enjoy this repost of photos from the 2026 season and a recap of the final Division 1 game of the season. It was great to see so many of our young players holding their own throughout the season with many making their Div 1 debut!

Dodgers Div 1 Lose Despite Out Hitting Falcons Div 1

Even though Dodgers Div 1 collected eight hits to Falcons Div 1's six, they still fell 5-4 on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve. Rodney Baulch, Julian Howe, and Eden Hardy each collected two hits for Dodgers Div 1.

Falcons Div 1 got on the board in the first inning after Darryl Munns doubled, scoring one run.

Rodney Baulch singled down the left field line, which helped Dodgers Div 1 tie the game at one in the top of the third.

In the top of the fourth, Dodgers Div 1 broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a single by Julian Howe followed to extend the lead to 3-1.

Falcons Div 1 made the score 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth after Michael Peters singled, scoring two runs, Darryl Munns singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.

Xavier Gardner earned the win for Falcons Div 1. The pitcher surrendered one hit and one run (zero earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking one. Eden Hardy took the loss for Dodgers Div 1. The hurler went four innings, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out two and walking five. Darryl Munns earned the save.

Rodney Baulch, Julian Howe, and Duncan Lever each drove in one run for Dodgers Div 1.

Darryl Munns and Michael Peters were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Falcons Div 1. Darryl Munns and Michael Peters were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Falcons Div 1. Fynn Murphy led Falcons Div 1 with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Caidan Gardner stole two bases.

Division 2 2026 Recap!!! ⚫⚾🟡

Due to my commitments in the Mad Dog diner and not so many home games, please enjoy a repost of pics from earlier in the season.

Thanks to our fabulous scorer Beryl for this fantastic recap of their final game of the season. Such a close game!

What a good game to finish the season with! Zero- zero draw. (They go through to next final cos they finished higher.) Parallel and very similar inning through until the sixth. Lead off batter Skip got on with a triple and a couple of batters later we had bases loaded and none out … but then three strike outs later, we were snuffed out. We struck back and dashed their hopes of catching us down hearted … three up, three down. No runs again in seventh and game called midway thru bottom of seventh.
Kudos to our Skipper, coach, manager Skip. He pitched masterfully after he hit batter with his first pitch but after that allowed only one base on balls and a lot more strike outs. From his three at bats he had a single and a triple … and hits were hard to come by. (Each pitcher allowed only 3 or 4 hits in 7 innings of work.) Good work Skip, you certainly led from the front today.

Dodgers Div 3 Fall After Strong Showing By Malmsbury Div 3

Dodgers Div 3 couldn't keep up with Malmsbury Div 3 and fell 10-3 on Sunday.

A ground out by Matt Oliver put Dodgers Div 3 on the board in the top of the first.

Dodgers Div 3 committed an error, which helped Malmsbury Div 3 tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

Malmsbury Div 3 took the lead in the bottom of the second. Trent Dempster singled, scoring one run, to give Malmsbury Div 3 the leg up, 2-1.

Malmsbury Div 3 scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning. An error scored one run, Ryan Tompkins singled, scoring two runs, Riley Harrington singled, scoring one run, and Trent Dempster grounded out, scoring one run.

Kristian Rogers led things off on the bump for Dodgers Div 3. The righty gave up seven hits and 10 runs (eight earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Ryan Buckland stepped on the mound first for Malmsbury Div 3. The pitcher allowed two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out one and walking four.

Kristian Rogers provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Dodgers Div 3 with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Mitchell McCann, Kristian Rogers, and Matt Oliver each collected one hit for Dodgers Div 3. Dodgers Div 3 ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.

Trent Dempster, the number seven hitter for Malmsbury Div 3, led the way with three runs batted in. Trent Dempster went 1-for-3 on the day. Riley Harrington went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Malmsbury Div 3 in hits. Ben Walter and Riley Harrington each stole multiple bases for Malmsbury Div 3. Malmsbury Div 3 stole 10 bases in the game. Malmsbury Div 3 were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Joseph Trucchio had the most chances in the field with 10.

Tonight we feature Dodgers U17s! For most of the team this was their last year of Jrs and it was a great season! They finished on top of the ladder and battled hard in the grand final. It was not the outcome they hoped for but we at the Dodgers couldn't be more proud! We all can't wait to see what these kids bring to the future of our club. ⚫⚾🟡

What a great season our U13s had this year. With the season over, it's time to celebrate the success and growth our U13 kids have shown. From the first game to the last, the Dodgers are so proud to watch the skills and love of the game on show! We can't wait to see you back next season!
