We’re excited to announce Ben Crooks as our 2027 Senior Head Coach for the Wedge-Tailed Eagles.

Ben brings almost 20 years of coaching experience across junior, Under 19 and senior women’s football, with a strong focus on developing players and creating positive football environments.

He’s already familiar with many of our players, having worked with a number of the current playing group through Gisborne-Kyneton United during their 2025 premiership season. That existing connection with the group makes Ben a great fit as he joins our club.

Most recently, Ben coached Gisborne’s Under 19 Women, taking the team through to the EDFL Premier Division preliminary final, a fantastic achievement!

Ben’s approach to coaching aligns strongly with the Wedge-Tailed Eagles, with a focus on supporting players to develop, enjoy their football and be part of an inclusive club culture.

We’re really looking forward to welcoming Ben to the Wedgies, and supporting him as he builds on the success of our first season in the CVFL while bringing his experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the club and playing group.

Welcome to the Wedgies Ben. It’s great to have you on board! 🦅

⚠️ CLUBS – IMPORTANT REMINDER

For your players and families to be able to nominate your club when applying for a voucher, your club must be registered and linked to the Get Active Kids Voucher Program as a Registered Activity Provider.
If your club hasn't completed this process, please make sure you do so as soon as possible.
Once a voucher is issued, it is linked to the activity provider selected during the application process, so families should check that their preferred football club is listed before submitting their application.
