๐ŸŒˆ PRIDE ROUND AT WEEROONA OVAL ๐ŸŒˆ

The Champions IGA CVFL's Pride Round provided a fantastic backdrop for last Sunday's Senior clash between Bendigo Women's Football Club and Marong Football Netball Club at Weeroona Oval.

As our clubs came together to celebrate inclusion, respect and belonging in community football, the players delivered an entertaining contest.

We've captured some of the best moments from the afternoon in the gallery below.

๐Ÿ“ธ Thanks to Fort Bend Film Club for the outstanding photos.

With the King's Birthday long weekend now upon us, the CVFL takes a well-earned break before launching into the second half of the season. It's a great opportunity for players to freshen up, volunteers to catch their breath, and clubs to reset ahead of what promises to be an exciting run towards finals.

Enjoy the break and we'll see everyone back at the footy next weekend!

Our women's team was fortunate to be part of a fantastic clinic hosted by Richmond Women's at the Camp on Monday.

After a kick on the oval with the players, the group took part in an engaging session covering a range of topics including fitness, nutrition, mental health and the programs the players are involved in away from football. The afternoon concluded with a Q&A, giving everyone the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about life as an AFLW player.

A big thank you to Richmond Women's for providing such a positive, informative and inspiring experience for our players. We greatly appreciate the time and energy the players invested in making the afternoon so memorable.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ This weekend the Champions IGA CVFL proudly celebrates Pride Round. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

Pride Round is about creating a football community where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and welcome to be themselves. Community sport has the power to bring people together, build friendships, and create lifelong connections โ€” and that experience should be open to everyone regardless of gender identity or sexuality.

Our clubs are at the heart of our communities, and Pride Round is an opportunity to stand together and show that football is for all. Inclusion, respect, belonging, and support are values that make our game stronger both on and off the field.

UNDER 18s

Friday night sees two huge clashes under lights!

At Canterbury Park, Eaglehawk Football Netball Club hosts Castlemaine Football Netball Club in a curtain raiser to the Senior match. Both teams are coming off strong wins last weekend and will be desperate to cement their place inside the Top 4.

Meanwhile at Ewing Park, Sandhurst Football Netball Club takes on Echuca United Football Netball Club. Both clubs are searching for their second win of the season, with United looking to bounce back after an agonising one-point defeat last weekend.

Sunday features some enormous match ups across the competition.

Kangaroo Flat FNC hosts the powerful Woorinen Youth Girls outfit in what shapes as a huge contest, while itโ€™s second versus third on the ladder as Strath Storm FNC takes on Marong Football Netball Club. Official Golden Square Football & Netball Club will also be hunting its first win of the season against a strong White Hills Womens Football side.

SENIORS

Tonight at Canterbury Park, Eaglehawk takes on Castlemaine with plenty on the line. A win for the Hawks could see them jump into the Top 4.

On Sunday, the Wedge-Tailed Eagles Football Club host Sandhurst at Racecourse Reserve in a crucial battle with third position on the ladder up for grabs.

White Hills faces a massive challenge against ladder leaders Golden Square at Wade Street, while at Weeroona Oval itโ€™s Bendigo Women's Football Club versus Marong. Thunder will be searching for their second win of the season, while Marong is chasing its first victory of 2026.

Good luck to all clubs this Pride Round weekend!
