Well done, Charlie 🥉who took home a bronze medal at the JVI winter tournament last weekend. Charlie trains hard and loves Judo, so it’s great to see his hard work paying off! No doubt he also had throw do the day in the junior divisions with this monster ippon! He’s ready to go if we need a super-sub for the Com games 🤣!

One of our favourite students and junior class helper, Makiya, has started her own babysitting business outside of her school hours, feel free to shoot her a text on 0418 862 734 for any of your babysitting needs!
Meet our pink power ranger Sarah! Coming from a BJJ background she took to judo like fish to water 🐠, quickly submitting some of our more experienced members (Angus)
Meet our gentle giant Phil - he can often be found managing the front desk or peeling people off the floor after randori! His pet peeves are shoes on the mat and people leaving lights on

It’s all starts with learning to fall, roll and move safely.
From there, kids learn how to throw or take down a partner
using techniques that suit their age and size.
It’s about balance, timing, and control.
They also do groundwork learning what to do once they’re on the ground. They learn how to hold, stay calm, and work their way out.
Every session includes wrestling and randori (practice sparring), so they get a chance to actually use what they’ve learned.
There’s a lot of trying and trying again.
Give it a few weeks and you see the improvement come to life.
They’re not as hesitant.
They have a go without overthinking it.
And they bounce back a bit quicker when something doesn’t work.
And along the way, they start to build real confidence, control, and self-belief.
