This week we celebrate the volunteers of our sport at kart clubs around Victoria and Australia with the 2026 National Volunteers week May 18th to 24th.

From Club & Administration Volunteers that maintain our clubs like grounds and maintenance staff, all of the crews working hard in the canteen preparing food and taking orders to keep all of us hydrated and our belly's happy to club committees, presidents, secretaries, treasurers, membership, license, and sponsorship co-ordinators doing the paperwork and keeping their clubs running.

To Race Officials & Event Operations volunteers like stewards keeping everyone in check with the rules, grid marshals forming up the grids, starters starting and finishing the races, lap scorers counting the laps and monitoring the timing, race directors and clerk of course overseeing everything, scrutineers and technical inspectors checking and measuring engines, testing fuel, tyre scanners checking tyres and scales marshals weighing karts sometimes over 1000 times a day just to name just a few of the volunteer roles.

Our sport simply wouldn’t exist without all of our volunteers working together across Victoria, so that we can all participate in a sport we love and can experience the thrill of racing and drivers can chase their dreams on track.

Thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, passion, and energy to make karting here in Victoria and around the country you make this all possible!

Our sport is always on the lookout for those willing to pitch in and give a hand helping your local club or those interested in helping running the racing via stewarding or officiating.

If you are interested be sure to contact Karting Victoria or your local club on how you can become apart of our karting community by volunteering within our sport!

Golden Power Series Round 2 was another awesome event hosted by Bendigo Kart Club last weekend, with constant rain on Sunday making for some very challenging finals.

A huge congratulations to Jack Morrell, who claimed the win in Cadet 9 after starting the final from 13th. Jack charged through the field in the wet and took the lead with just over a lap to go — a fantastic drive in his final race as a Cadet 9.

Jimmy Swatton had a strong weekend in KA3 Junior Heavy, running at the front all meeting, winning Heat 1 and finishing 2nd in the final. A great recovery drive also from Flynn Patterson, who came back from a lap-one incident to finish 8th from the rear of the field.

In TAG Restricted Light, Hugh Dalton was chasing back-to-back wins and started the final in 2nd before being pushed off early, dropping back to 8th. He fought back well to finish 4th. Archie Patterson finished as high as 5th in the heats, but some bad luck in the final resulted in 13th .

Other great efforts included Adrian Stratford returning to karting in TAG Restricted Medium and finishing 7th, Kevin Walmsley 11th in TAG Restricted Masters, and Shannon O’Mahoney 8th in TAG Restricted Heavy.

Our newer members Ollie Bird and Hunter Thompson competed in their first Golden Power Series Event. Altho they recorded DNFs in the final, but both gained valuable experience and will be ready to come back stronger next year.

A massive thank you to all club members, volunteers and officials and sponsors who helped make the event possible. The track looked fantastic, the new viewing area was a hit, and thanks to Cogho and the SupaTV crew for live streaming the finals on Sunday.
