A competitive weekend across the club with plenty of fight shown π΄β«οΈ
Our League 1 Women secured a strong 3β1 win. After a tight first half, the girls responded brilliantly to conceding early in the second. Chloe found the equaliser before setting up Mary, who enters the 1 goal club, while Dina sealed the win to cap off a great team performance.
Our League 2 Women went down 0β1 in a hard-fought contest. Despite playing with reduced numbers against a fast, young side, the effort and persistence across the field was outstanding. Emma produced a phenomenal performance in goals, with the team showing strong signs moving forward.
On the road, our League 1 Men battled through a tough day with limited numbers:
β½ Reserves fell 1β2 in a close contest
β½ Seniors responded with a strong 2β1 win
With injuries mounting throughout the day, the boys showed great resilience, with Mikey pulling off a number of crucial saves to keep the side in it. Seyeed, Jacob and Yassein also entered the 1 goal club - a great milestone for the group π
Plenty to build on across all sides β we go again next week πͺ

A big weekend across the club, with some strong performances and milestones π΄β«οΈ
Our Team of the Week goes to our League 1 Women, who secured a hard-fought 3β2 win over Castlemaine. After a strong first half, Rose led the charge with 2 goals, while Dina entered the 1 goal club. The girls held firm through a tough second half to get the job done.
Our League 2 Women showed plenty of fight early, heading into halftime 2β0 down with low numbers. Unfortunately, due to in-game injuries, the side was unable to continue after the break.
In other highlights, Big Bill netted the first goal of his career, while Dylan also scored his first for the club in a tight 3β2 contest.

Match Week 1 Results π¦
Round 1 kicked off over the weekend, whilst a tough week for numbers due to uni break, all teams fought hard.
Our team of the week is our League 2 Men who went down in a tight 2-1 loss to Swan Hill. The men fought hard with Mikey pulling off a number of saves to keep it at 1-0. In the 2nd half, Isaiah announced himself to the β1 goal clubβ when he picked up the ball at the corner of the box and fired an absolute rocket into the top corner, bringing it to 1-1 and giving the boys confidence. Unfortunately, Swan Hill returned fire with their own screamer late in the game, meaning the boys were unable to get a well deserved point against tough opposition.
In our other games Youseff also entered the 1 goal club with a 25m chip which sailed over the keepers head and hit the back of the net, scoring in his first official game for the club
Whilst results didnβt go our way last weekend, we shift our focus to this weekend, with a number of players rejoining the squads. Keep an eye on our socials for match details as we would love your support
