A huge congratulations to Corey Larson winning the July Bendigo Sports Star ⭐️ Awards!

COREY LARSON | MOUNTAIN BIKING

Corey Larson has enjoyed an impressive start to the year, with strong results at state, national and international level.

Corey claimed the Victorian Under-17 State Championship and took out the Victorian State Series, before finishing second in a round of the National Series in Cairns and third overall in the series.

At the National Championships, Corey placed fifth in the short course event, while internationally he finished 10th in a UCI Category 3 mountain bike race in Japan.

Corey was also invited to attend a national development camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in January, bringing together some of the country's leading young mountain biking talent.

Congratulations Corey on your incredible achievements. We look forward to following your journey and seeing what comes next! Please join us in congratulating Corey on being named the latest
Bendigo Sports Star!!⭐️

This weekend is SCHOOLS SERIES MTB RACING 🎉🎉

Saturday is at Castlemaine Secondary College Castlemaine Rocky Riders
Sunday is at Spring Gully Bendigo Mountain Bike Club

This event is specifically for school aged kids.
Our categories range from:
Under 9 yrs old right up to
Under 19yrs old.

If you've never raced before make sure you choose NOVICE when registering.

These events are for kids to 'taste test' mountain bike racing. No licences required.

The photo below shows what is possible - Alana started racing the schools events when she was very little!!! She has recently represented Australia at the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in mountain biking. We are so proud of her and her persistence and discipline is paying dividends ✅

Coffee and fundraiser BBQ will be available on the day at Bendigo.

2WA TRY-OUTS

Riding into our 11th year...

36 EOI'S that want to join 2WA.

They can see it is a wonderful program that offers mountain bike riding as a first sport, for passionate riders, over the Summer season.

The morning included meeting other prospective riders, breaking into smaller coaching groups, learning our safety rules, having a social ride and finishing with a timed Individual Time Trial on the Green Loop.

The senior coaches now have the tricky job of choosing the 2026/2027 2WA cohort.

Keep an eye out for the new orange and blue group, ready to convene on October 4th.
