πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’› Bendigo! Meet your first-ever Rookie of the Year - Daniel Farrington! πŸ†

Lacing up the boots for the first time at just 17 years old, Dan has shown incredible toughness and commitment throughout his debut season.

Putting his body on the line every week, Dan never took a backwards step and continued to grow in confidence with every game.

Loved by his teammates and always willing to put in the work, Dan has quickly become a valued part of the Crushers family.

For a young bloke playing his first season of rugby league, Dan has set the standard for what it means to be a Crusher.

Congratulations Dan on being crowned our inaugural Rookie of the Year! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›BENDIGO! Meet your Volunteer of the Year - Meg Mock! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

After being β€œslightly” coerced by her partner Anthony to get involved with the club, Meg quickly became part of the Crushers furniture.

Volunteering as our 'Level One Trainer', Meg was always willing to go above and beyond for the boys, with some weeks simply not playable without her presence.

From travelling hours to and from games on a bus full of sweaty boys, to coming out to cold and wet training nights - even though she β€œdoesn’t work in the rain” - Meg was always there when the team needed her.

A dietitian by trade, you’d be pretty brave to complain about a cramp after ignoring one of Meg’s carefully written game-day nutrition guides! πŸ˜‚

For Meg, the highlight of the season was "seeing the team grow and improve each week" - watching the boys continue to develop, come together and build something special as the season went on.

Meg’s passion, dedication and care for the Crushers has never gone unnoticed.

Thank you, Meg, for everything you’ve given to the club this year. A very deserving Volunteer of the Year! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’› BENDIGO! Your 2026 Crusher of the Year - Matt Mitchell! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›

Matt joined the Crushers last year alongside his older brother Adam after growing up as huge fans of rugby league in Western Sydney.

After a big preseason and earning his spot on the wing, Matt’s season was cut short after just five games when a tackle left him with a broken collarbone.

But apparently one week away from the team for surgery was enough.

With a classic β€œthat’s footy” attitude and absolutely no interest in sitting quietly on the sideline, Matt was straight back into the action - just in a different role. Instead of running the ball, he became our League Safe Trainer, running water, coaches’ messages and interchanges - sometimes covering close to 7km a game.

Off the field, he’s also part of our committee and runs the Crushers socials - Hi Mum πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Player. Trainer. Committee member. Social media man.

Whatever the club needed, Matt put his hand up.

That’s what the Crusher of the Year is all about.

Congratulations, Matt! πŸ’™πŸ–€πŸ’›
