Mandurang Cricket Club VS Bendigo Strikers Cricket Club
It was a tough pill to swallow for the Strikers after falling short in another close contest.
Day 1 saw the Strikers put in a solid effort with the ball, bowling out Mandurang for 193 runs in their first innings. The bowling attack was led by Josy, who claimed 3 wickets, while Glarin and Jins proved to be a reliable duo, taking 2 wickets each.
In reply, the Strikers’ innings started with a few early setbacks, but a brilliant 71-run partnership between Soji (66) and Sujan (42) brought the team back into the game. Renjith showed resilience with a fighting 19 runs, but despite the effort, the Strikers fell short by 29 runs.
A spirited performance, but the search for that elusive win continues.

🏏 Match Report:
Bendigo Strikers vs California Gully Cobras

The Bendigo Strikers faced a tough challenge in their two-day fixture against Calgully at Cal Gully Oval. After being bowled out for just 99 runs in the first innings, the Strikers were forced to bat again, needing a strong second innings to avoid an outright defeat.
Despite loosing wicket in first over, the team showed remarkable grit and resilience in the second innings.
Anil Jose, sent in as a nightwatchman in the 2nd over, anchored the innings with a determined stay at the crease, eventually dismissed in the 53rd over.
His partnership with Skipper Jomy Antony was the turning point of the innings, as the duo forged a 76-run stand, facing 250 deliveries and keeping the cobras attack at bay.

Later, Garry Gill added valuable runs with a composed 71 off 96 balls*, helping the Strikers stabilize and regain control. While the first innings was one to forget, the second innings showcased the team’s character and fighting spirit. There were plenty of lessons learned and positives to take forward.
