Great morning on the mats!
We had a good turnout for our Friday morning session, with plenty of solid rounds.

It was awesome to see some familiar faces visiting from out of town.

Kids' grading night is this coming Tuesday, followed by games night/break-up on Thursday the 17th. We will have two weeks off for the holidays, so everyone can enjoy the break, and we will be back on Tuesday, October 6th. If you have any questions, contact Julian on 0439 339 910.

Our Annual Stewie's House of BJJ Jiu Jitsu Camp is coming up. Saturday, October 3rd, and Sunday, October 4th.

A massive congratulations to Darren Rinaldi on his promotion to Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt.

Darren is a lifelong martial artist and combat-sports veteran with more than 40 years of experience. Despite that incredible depth of knowledge, he remains humble, eager to learn and passionate about helping everyone around him. Those qualities are second to none.

After four decades of training, Darren carries several long-term injuries and the physical toll of a lifetime on the mats. Yet he continues to turn up, remain a student and train intelligently within his limits. He still mixes it up on the mat at a pace that allows him to enjoy the sport while remaining a highly valued training partner and mentor to the entire team.

This promotion is thoroughly deserved and recognises not only Darren’s technical ability, but also his perseverance, humility and contribution to our team.

Congratulations, Darren. We are incredibly proud to have you representing Stewie’s House of BJJ as a Brown Belt.

Massive congratulations to Kris Hansen, who won GOLD at the Australian Jiu Jitsu Championships this morning! 🥇
Kris submitted all his opponents on his way to taking out the No Gi Black Belt Master 1 – 85.5kg Division.

Over the past month, our club has experienced the passing of two former students, Don Grant and Nathan Marks.
Don Grant was an exceptional man and a friend to many. He was a world-class kettlebell coach who positively influenced countless people, both within the sport and throughout life.
Don will be remembered in many different ways by many different people. For me, I will remember his love of life, his passion for helping others and, of course, that unforgettable smile.
We will all miss you, my brother, but your legacy and passion will continue to live on.
Nathan Marks was a kind, quiet and gentle soul who mostly kept to himself, but always showed genuine care for others. He was thoughtful and good-hearted, and those who knew him saw his true kindness.
Though soft-spoken, Nathan’s presence mattered deeply. He was part of our club, part of our story, and he will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of both Don and Nathan during this incredibly difficult time.
Rest peacefully, gentlemen. You will both be remembered.
