The Maiden Gully YCW Eagles Football Netball Club has been formed between YCW Sporting & Social Club and Maiden Gully Junior Football Club in 2017, with both clubs moving to the Marist Maiden Gully facility. This move and alignment will provide a pathway from under 9’s all the way through to senior football in Maiden Gully as well as increasing the range and number of netball teams at Maiden Gully.

We’re excited to welcome Soph to Maiden Gully YCW for the 2027 season!

Soph began her netball journey with Elmore in 2019 in the 17s, where she was part of a premiership-winning team. She went on to play A Reserve for the next five years, winning further premierships in 2022 and 2023, earning Best on Court in a Grand Final and finishing as an equal runner-up in the club A res Best & Fairest and Best & Fairest in her final year there.

Soph moved to Eaglehawk in 2025, playing A Reserve and returning to the side in 2026, helping them reach the elimination final.

A versatile player who can slot into both defence and the goal ring, Soph will be a fantastic addition to our club.

Welcome to MGYCW, Soph! We can’t wait to see you take the court in 2027!🟠⚪️🔵🦅

Great to have Najem Aldorki returning to the club for the 2027 season!

Naj played with us from 2017–2019 and has since spent time at White Hills and Golden Square, along with a couple of games for Serp in 2026.

A versatile big man, Naj can play as a ruckman or key back/forward. He brings a strong contest and reads the game exceptionally well, making him a great addition to our side.

Welcome back, Naj! We can’t wait to see you back in the blue, white and orange for 2027! 🦅🔵⚪️🟠

We’re excited to welcome Jules and her family to our great club for the 2027 season!

Jules is a versatile midcourter who can also make a huge impact in the ring circle, with great elevation and strong defensive skills.

After spending 10 years away from competitive netball, Jules has only been back playing for the past three years — and you certainly wouldn’t know it!

Jules played half a season at Castlemaine in 2024 across A Grade and A Reserve before heading to Pyramid Hill in 2025, where she played A Reserve and took home the club Best & Fairest. This year, she stepped up to A Grade and also coached the B Reserve side.

We’re thrilled to have Jules bringing her experience, versatility and passion to MGYCW and can’t wait to see her out on the court!

Welcome to the family, Jules! 🔵⚪️🟠🦅

We’re excited to welcome Riley Neaves to the club for the 2027 season!

Riley brings an impressive junior football résumé, having spent time in the Sydney Swans Academy, represented Vic Country, played with the Bendigo Pioneers and, more recently, lined up with Eaglehawk.

Injuries have unfortunately interrupted his footy in recent times, but Riley is now fit, fresh and ready to hit the ground running as he prepares for a big preseason! 💪

We’re thrilled to have Riley on board and look forward to seeing him back out on the field.

A big welcome to Riley, his partner Christina, and their children Oakley, Bentley and Deekin to the MGYCW family! 🦅🔵⚪️🟠

We’re thrilled to welcome Jaxon Vroom back to his original junior club for the 2027 season! 🏉

After spending the past five seasons at Eaglehawk, Jaxon returns to where it all began, bringing an impressive list of achievements with him.

During his time at Eaglehawk, Jaxon won the Reserves Best & Fairest in 2024, followed by runner-up finishes in the Bendigo FNL Reserves League Best & Fairest in both 2025 and 2026. He also capped off an outstanding 2026 season by winning the Best on Ground medal in Eaglehawk’s Reserves premiership! 🏆

At just 22 years of age, these are some incredible achievements, and we can’t wait to see what he brings to our club.

Jaxon will line up in the ruck and forward, providing plenty of excitement both on and off the field! 🟠⚪️🔵🦅

Welcome home, Vroomy! We’re pumped to have you back!
