This summer, Bendigo Yacht Club is opening its doors to the community through our Fridays by the Lake program.

These afternoons are designed to welcome families and newcomers to the club, introduce them to sailing and water activities, and strengthen the club's connection with the Bendigo community.

What is on offer:

· A relaxed, safe, family-friendly environment

Introducing Zoe!

Most Saturdays in summer, you’ll find Zoe down at the lake, rigging her boat and getting ready to head out in search of a breeze. Her sailing journey began at a “Discover Sailing Day" and in 2022 she started learning to sail.
She began sailing in an Opti dinghy before progressing to a Pacer. She now sails her own Sabre and spends as much time as possible at the club practising her gybes and tacks. She also enjoys helping the younger cadets rig their boats and launch.
Sailing has taught Zoe much more than how to handle a boat. She’s learned patience, gained confidence, and developed the ability to think ahead and adapt to changing conditions.
