East Lakes Swim Centre ELSC is an indoor aquatic program based facility offering all levels of swim school, coaching and aquatic fitness 🏊🏼💦

Our aim is to provide quality instruction, coaching and service across all bands of swimming and sports training. Our unique program caters for all ability swimming platforms ranging from infant, beginner swimmers to aspiring junior and senior athletes across multiple aquatic sports. WATER SAFETY WEEK STARTS TOMORROW!

Our final week of Term 3 is all about building PAS skills that could one day save a life 💙

From Starfish Transition through to Squaddies, swimmers will get hands-on with:
👕 Swimming in clothes
🏊‍♀️ Personal Aquatic Survival (PAS) Skills
💦 Survival strokes
🛟 Basic rescue skills

All activities are age and ability appropriate, with water safety woven into our regular lessons for our littlest swimmers.

Parents: don’t forget to pack a plastic bag for those wet clothes!

💙 Child Safety Spotlight 💙

This week we're highlighting Child Safe Standard 2 – "Children participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously".

At ELSC, we believe children should have a voice in their own learning and wellbeing. Whether it's asking for a break, sharing how they're feeling, or telling us they're not comfortable with something, we want every child to know that their voice matters.

Our team takes the time to listen, explain things in ways children can understand, ask for permission before providing physical correction, and create an environment where questions are always welcome.

We also work closely with families to ensure every child is supported in the way that suits them best, because every child communicates differently.

When children feel listened to, respected, and empowered to speak up, they build confidence both in and out of the water - it's that's something we're proud to encourage every day.

This week we're highlighting Child Safe Standard 1 – "Child safety is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture" While that might sound formal, it simply means that child safety is part of every decision we make, every lesson we teach, and every interaction we have.

It's about having leaders who lead by example, listening to children and valuing their voices, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, and making sure our team is always learning, growing, and following best practice.

Child safety isn't something we only think about when policies are updated - it's woven into our everyday culture. From the pool deck to our front desk, we're committed to creating a place where children can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.
