The countdown to Season 2026/27 is officially on at Bentleigh ANA!

With pre-season now underway, the boys have their sights firmly set on Round 1 — Saturday 10 October, when our Longmuir Shield campaign begins with a one-day clash away against Elwood. 🔥🏏

Just over a month and a half to go.

We’ve got a great mix of familiar faces, exciting new additions and plenty of energy building around the group. Now we know exactly what lies ahead — 12 rounds and another opportunity to have a serious crack at the Longmuir Shield. 🏆

What a fantastic way to kick off our 2026/27 pre-season!

After the strong numbers at our first session on Monday night, we’ve made a small change to our upcoming training schedule — we’ve increased the number of nets available to make sure we can accommodate everyone and get as much quality work in as possible. 💪🏏

It was awesome to see such a great turnout, with plenty of familiar faces back amongst it and some exciting new faces joining the ANA family. 👏💚💛

There’s a really good feeling building around the club, so let’s keep that momentum going!

A fantastic feature on two of our own — Matthew Lloyd and his son Jacob, who both proudly pull on the Bentleigh ANA colours.

We all know Matthew for what he achieved on the football field, but this story is about something completely different.

It’s about a dad getting the opportunity to play cricket alongside his son. ❤️

As Matthew says:

“My AFL career was great but to have a season playing sport with my son is as good as anything I’ve experienced.”

That probably says everything about why local sporting clubs matter.

It’s not always about runs, wickets or premierships. It’s about family, friendships, belonging and creating memories that last well beyond the scoreboard.

For us at ANA, having fathers and sons, juniors and seniors, old heads and young players all sharing the same club is exactly what community cricket should be about. 🏏
