Another night on the floor. Another opportunity to sharpen the technique, strengthen the body and challenge the mind.
Focus. Discipline. Respect. Growth.
No shortcuts. No excuses. Just turning up, training hard and getting better — together.

Our monthly research workshops offer dedicated time to look beyond regular class training. Today's session centered on individual progress, with each student working through the next kata in their grading syllabus—focusing on technical precision, application, and core principles.
Great effort and concentration from everyone on the floor. Thank you all for the dedication brought to today's study. See you at training during the week. 🥋

Preparing for Gradings
To help students receive consistent instruction, technical feedback, and the best possible preparation for all your Gradings, students wishing to grade within the Kenkyukai under any Shibucho from the above dojos will be expected to have attended a minimum of two of the previous three Sunday training sessions prior to their grading date.
Remember you attempt your Sandan and above Gradings in front of Taira Masaji Sensei.
Shodan and Nidan will be Graded by Locally based Shiuchos and you will receive your Certificate directly from Taira Sensei.
These sessions are designed to ensure all students are training to a consistent standard across the Kenkyukai while gaining a deeper understanding of their syllabus and its practical application.
Students grading directly through UMA or Dynamic Dojos will continue to follow their respective grading requirements.
If you regularly work on Sundays and attendance may be difficult, please contact me so we can discuss alternative arrangements.
These sessions will be held on the last Sunday of each month.
I look forward to seeing you there.
