Every dive instructor teaches buoyancy control, but very few divers ever stop to think about what they’re actually fighting against.
Traditional wetsuits are filled with millions of tiny gas bubbles. At the surface, those bubbles create buoyancy, forcing divers to add lead simply to descend. As depth increases, the neoprene compresses and loses buoyancy. On ascent, it expands again.
The result is a constant cycle of adjustment throughout the dive.
Add air. Dump air. Fine-tune your trim. Repeat.
For generations, divers have accepted this as normal.
Shifting weight into trim pockets may improve body position, but it doesn’t solve the underlying problem: the buoyancy of the suit itself is constantly changing.
