🏆🍻 2026 — LEAGUE CHAMPIONS & GRAND FINAL WINNERS 🍻🏆

The 35 Drunks finish 2026 exactly how every season should finish - League Champions and Grand Final Champions 2–1 in the big one to complete the double. 💙🖤🤍

And for the Drunks, this one joins some pretty special company.

🏆 2014 — League & Grand Final Champions
🏆 2023 — League & Grand Final Champions
🏆 2026 — League & Grand Final Champions

Three doubles. Three different eras.

From the OG Drunks who started this madness, through all the blokes who’ve pulled on the shirt over the years, to the current crop of ageing athletes held together with tape, anti-inflammatories, questionable medical advice and post-match beers and Sam’s rehabilitation program just keeps rolling on.

2026 had everything. Injuries. Weddings taking priority over semi-finals. Pink shirts and deflections. MOM. Cold beers Plenty of s**t football disguised as tactical genius… and when it mattered, some genuinely bloody good football.

Thanks to Dan Borg for taking the coaching reins this year running the side line, to everyone who helped organise the team, and especially to every bloke who turned up week after week and bought into what the Drunks are about.

And credit to the Rustics worthy rivals all year and a cracking Grand Final to finish it.

For the 35 Drunks, we move up to 35C in 2027.

But another chapter is already starting…

The old boys are getting older.
The 45 Drunks are stirring. 🍺👴⚽

To the OG Drunks who are now eligible…

Dust off the boots. Find the Deep Heat. Alert your physio.

35C & 45s… here we fu***ng come.

🍻 2014. 2023. 2026.
🏆 THREE-TIME LEAGUE & GRAND FINAL DOUBLE WINNERS.
💙🖤🤍 UP THE DRUNKS.

Round 10 Match Report

35 Drunks 1 – 1 Wyong Emus

A tough day on the field for the Drunks this week, finishing with a 1-all draw against the Wyong Emus.

Midweek we looked to be travelling nicely with a full bench, and Micka even earned himself a hall pass to help out the A’s, who had found themselves a little short-handed for the weekend.

Before our game kicked off, there was a rough end to the match prior, involving a serious injury, a broken leg and an ambulance, which nearly caused our game to be postponed. After some quick calls and negotiations between the Wyong and Berkeley executives, CCF and the referee, common sense eventually prevailed and the game kicked off a little late.

Once underway, it quickly became clear it was going to be one of those games. Before half-time, Steve was already on the sideline with his boots off nursing an injury, while Pom was busy trying to craft himself a brand-new quad out of strapping tape, while bravely ignoring Sam’s advice that maybe, just maybe, he should stay off.

Phil, who had been sick for most of the week, dug deep to take the field and put in a solid shift. The Emus were apparently so worried about him finding some form that one of them tried to get a second goal by taking Phil’s head off in what was described as a 50 to tackle!

Kurt managed to skin a play and take off down the sideline on a quick break, only to be cleaned up by a stray Emu and end up as another injury on the bench with a sore hip for his troubles.

Despite the general clunkiness, Trent Bridger had an absolute cracker of a game. Working hard up and down the wing, he was technically playing right mid, but spent enough time positioning himself on the left just so he could get the ball. Outstanding effort from Trent, who deservedly took out Man of the Match.

Corey picked up the only yellow card of the game, in what may go down as the softest hit to earn a yellow this season.

We also saw Shannon denied what looked like a penalty every day of the week, only for Teflon Timmy to give one away about a minute later for what looked like a fairly regular challenge. Football, apparently.

Shannon was excellent through the mids and had a stellar game, while Maggs and G showed real quality and worked hard throughout. Medals also noted that MG has now become quiet and respectful, while G appears to have taken over the role of providing ongoing feedback to the referee a proud tradition once held by Marky.

Overall, it probably was not the slickest Drunks performance. There was some unstructured clunkiness, which is very unlike our usual silky, well-oiled style of football.

For those that left early we managed to sell all the lucky numbers, with Kristy coming away as the lucky winner.

Awards

Man of the Match: Trent Bridger
Pink: Micka

Not our best performance this week and probably one we will not spend too long dwelling on, but still found a way to come away with a point. Considering we ended the game with the bare 11 on the park and a bench full of injuries, there was plenty of character shown. Rest up, recover well, and if you need any ligaments, tendons or muscles strapped back together before next week, have a chat with Pom. We’ll reset, take the positives and go again.

# 🍻 ROUND 9 MATCH REPORT 🍻

# # 35 Drunks 8️⃣ – 0️⃣ Killarney Vale

**Another day at the office.**

The Drunks rolled into Round 9 with one thing on the agenda: score goals, keep a clean sheet, and make sure there were enough cold ones waiting afterwards. Mission accomplished.

An emphatic **8-0 demolition** saw the boys put on a clinic in what can only be described as a socially elite football performance.

🚧 Tim vs The Kitchen Bench

The biggest pre-match battle wasn't on the pitch.

**Timmy elected to stay home and supervise tradies installing the new kitchen bench**, eventually arriving part-way through the first half. A strong contender for **latest arrival of the season**, yet somehow still managed to influence the game more than most people who arrived on time.

After eventually taking the field, Tim produced one of the more bizarre moments in Drunks history. Starting in the back line and somehow materialising in front of the opposition keeper, he rose to head the ball from the keeper's grasp and into the net.

Late in the second half, with around eight minutes remaining, Tim then stepped into goals to give Phil a run up front.

Kitchen installed. Goal scored. Clean sheet maintained.

A productive Saturday.
🎯 Finish of the Season?

Corey's goal deserves its own chapter.

A cracking ball from Brad over the defence and found Corey in stride. What followed was a finish of such quality that it may genuinely rank among the best goals ever scored by a Drunk.

The technique. The composure. The ex*****on.

Frankly, displaying that level of football ability in this team should probably have earned him the **Pink Shirt** immediately.

💃🩷

Shannon clearly took notes and attempted something very similar later in the game. Unfortunately the football gods decided one world-class finish per afternoon was enough.

# # # 👂 Selective Hearing Department

A special mention to **Medals**, who was apparently called for a substitution.

Whether he didn't hear it or simply chose not to hear it remains under investigation.

Several witnesses have described the incident as a textbook case of **selective hearing**.

# # # 🚢 Sea Legs Returning

After returning from his cruise, **Pom** looked every bit a man still adjusting to life on dry land.

The opening 15 minutes of the first half and opening 10 minutes of the second half suggested the sea legs were still very much active or it could have been number 15 hacking at his legs.

To be fair, he was attempting passes nobody else could see.

Unfortunately neither could his teammates.

# # # 🧱 The Brick Wall

While Pom was experimenting with creative distribution, **Maggott and StuMac** quietly produced an outstanding shift at centre back.

The pair were dominant all afternoon, cleaning up danger, shutting down attacks and generally making up for some of the more adventurous passing choices occurring around them.

An elite partnership.

# # # 🐎 Far Lap Returns

At one point the lads put one though forTrent and he absolutely took off.

If he had locks they would have been flowing in the breeze.

Knees pumping.

Turning back the clock.

The gallop was so impressive that only **Far Lap** could have matched it.

Unfortunately the referee wasn't interested in nostalgia and called offside.

The run deserved better.

# # # 🏥 Hospital Ward Open

Pom also deserves recognition for producing **back-to-back hospital passes**, immediately creating a healthy exchange of "your mumma" banter between himself and opposition number 15.

Football was played.

Words were exchanged.

Nobody learned anything.

Exactly as intended.

ROUND 8 MATCH REPORT

35 Drunks 6 – 1

The Drunks put together one of their most complete performances of the season in Round 8, running out convincing 6-1 winners after a dominant display from the first whistle.

From the outset the boys looked sharp, moving the ball around beautifully and controlling the game across the park. The passing football was a pleasure to watch and set the tone for what became a cracking team performance.

Leading the charge was Corey, who bagged himself a superb hat-trick and earned Man of the Match honours for his efforts. Clinical in front of goal and causing headaches for defenders all afternoon, it was one of his best performances in a Drunks shirt.

Medals got himself on the scoresheet once again, while Marky and Steve combined for another goal. Whether it goes in the books for Marky or Steve is still being investigated by the Match Review Panel, but one thing is certain — Marky’s celebration was absolutely elite and worth the goal alone.

The loudest cheer of the afternoon belonged to StuMac, who finally broke through for his first goal of the season.

It could have been even better. Kurt thought he’d added another to the tally after finding the back of the net, only for the referee to cruelly deny him.

At the other end, Marcus was outstanding. Despite being the youngest bloke in the side, he has settled into the back line brilliantly and played with composure well beyond his years. A top performance that helped keep the opposition quiet for most of the afternoon.

Dan chipped in with an important contribution, creating the pressure that led to a corner which eventually resulted in one of the goals. Another assist for the stat sheet.

The opposition completely lost their heads as the match wore on. Multiple yellow cards were handed out, one player earned himself a ten-minute spell in the bin for dissent, and their goalkeeper managed to turn one yellow into two before being sent off altogether.

The Drunks weren’t entirely innocent either. In the dying moments a bit banter broke out, and in a welcome return to form, Angry Pom made an appearance. Pom collected the Pink Card from the team after a late blow-up that reminded everyone he’s still got plenty of mongrel left in the tank.

Special mention to Maggot, who was unavailable this week attending his son’s wedding. Reports suggest Dan, Shannon and Benny were also missing after heading off hunting, although authorities are yet to confirm their whereabouts.

🔥 ROUND 6 — DRUNKS DIG DEEP 🍻

Berkeley Vale Wombats Over 35s
2️⃣ - 1️⃣ Terrigal

With a few lads out, limited troops on the bench, and enough sore bodies to fill a physio waiting room, the Drunks still managed to grind out another quality win.

⚽ Steve wasted absolutely no time, banging one in early to get the boys rolling and reminding everyone he still knows where the goals are.

Terrigal clawed one back after a short ball near goal turned into a gift-wrapped equaliser. Not ideal, but the heads stayed up and the boys kept grinding.

🗣 Match highlight may have belonged to Sir Mark though, who was asked by the ref:
“Have you got something to say?”

To which Mark calmly and diplomatically responded:

An absolute veteran performance.

⏰ Shannon rolled in about 30 minutes late with the freshest legs on the field and immediately started causing havoc. Seemed to appear everywhere at once, turning Terrigal players inside out and generally creating chaos.

🤣 At one stage the boys were away…
Corey cut it back perfectly to Benny D at the top of the D…

…and Benny absolutely launched it into orbit, NASA currently tracking the ball somewhere over Terrigal.

⚽ Phil and Brad Perry felt we should’ve had 7, just to keep the strikers on notice!

Corey later managed to get himself one-on-one with the keeper and somehow missed 😢, but to his credit dropped back to the wing to give Steve a break and soon after slotted one home to secure the lead.

Micka was dropped in to help shore up the back line this week, but somehow kept popping up at the top of the D supporting the strikers whenever the boys surged forward.

🔒 Last 10 minutes turned into lockdown mode with Bridger trying holding Micka in the backline alongside G and Stu to shut the game down and see it home.

🚢 Unfortunately with Pom off taking Sam on a cruise adventure this week, Maggot couldn’t get the Achilles worked on and had to sit this one out nursing the injury from the sidelines.

💖 Special mention to Teflon Tim who turned up despite being out this week, proudly returning the pink shirt and supporting the lads from the sideline like a true Drunk with is tea?

🏅 Man of the Match: G
Massive 80-minute effort. Solid all day, and still had something left in the tank.

💬 Phil also summed the game up beautifully post-match by declaring:
“We could’ve won by 10 if the strikers could shoot.”

Strong words from a man currently in possession of the pink shirt.

💖 Pink Shirt Update:
Teflon Tim somehow slipped through the voting once again, leaving Phil to inherit the converted pink shirt this week.

No fear though after the last time Phil wore the pink and took it for a stint at Autonostix, the jersey returned suspiciously well lubricated and carrying enough grease to service a Hilux.

🎟 Lucky Numbers:
Steve doubled up on wins this week, taking home the Lucky Numbers draw after already opening the scoring earlier in the day.

Some blokes just can’t lose on a Saturday.

🔥 FULL TIME — 35 DRUNKS SURVIVE THE EARLY WAKE-UP 🍻

Berkeley Vale Wombats Over 35s
5️⃣ - 1️⃣ Toukley Gorokan

We had a slower start than the first bloke arriving at the pub after a Friday night session, conceding early after Toukley snuck one in before the Drunks had fully calibrated.

After that though… complete control.

The midfield settled, the defence tightened up, and the goals started flowing like cans out of the esky.

🏅 Man of the Match: SHANNON
He seemed refreshed after a week away as the skipper of chaos. Won everything in the middle and dragged the boys straight back into the contest.

💥 Special mention to the little fella from Toukley who appeared deeply confused about the concept of tackling, deciding the best defensive option on Corey was simply grabbing his leg and dragging him down. Looked more rugby league than Over 35s football. Ref somehow kept the cards in his pocket and the laughs rolling on the sideline.

💖 Pink Shirt Votes:
With votes spread wider than the bar tab at presentation, Timmy couldn’t escape the punishment this week.

Thanks last week Pink recipient Sam making the pink a little sparkly, Timmy spent the afternoon looking a little disco-themed sparkle and smelt like nana.

Tough scenes.
Outstanding content.

🎟 Lucky Numbers:
21 numbers sold this week with The Esky buying the final four spots like a desperate punter chasing the meat raffle.

Winning Number: 9️⃣
Winner: THE ESKY 🍺

We’re calling it destiny.
