POLLINATING HEARTS & GARDENS 🌼 🐝

Everyone's buzzing about this one these holidays!

Roll up your wildflower seed bombs and blast your garden with some radical pollinator goodness! We are building pollinator hotels and flower seed bombs to take home.

Learn about bees, both native and European.

We will wander through the food forest gathering flowers and herbs to imprint and hammer dye onto cloth or perhaps into a bubbling brew or potion.

Come along on a bug hunt and let's see what we can find in the forest…should we put them in our damper? Hmmmm perhaps not, maybe we’ll stick to local spring honey.

WEAVE SPRING MAGIC ✨⚱️

This day is for weavers, wizards and builders. We will weave nests from materials carefully sourced in Nature and we will build bird hides and camouflage cubbies to play hide and seek or watch the forest bird life.

Magic up some bubbling brews and whittle your magic stirring stick!

Come on a foraging walk through the food forest and find edible weeds and herbs for our communally prepared campfire meal.

AND! We will create some vegie seedlings that you can take home and pop into your garden. Nourishing you from seed to plate!

HIDING | in plain sight

What did the young ones find? The bush holds so many secrets - a little critter, fascinating fungi, a sleepy hollow.

We are playing and learning in glorious bushland these holidays. There are two 'Botanical Exploration' sessions left - Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 July - and then our term-based groups begin again.

CURIOSITY | a poem

When I reach a little outwards, with my hands and with my heart,
I discover what a tree can be about.

A place to lean whilst reading, an umbrella from the rain,
a home to tiny creatures, where birds fly back again.

When I reach a little outwards, with my mind and with my toes,
I find the secret places where mischief imps grow.

CHAOS | it can be fun.

Children of all ages get involved in playing 'Chaos' a collaborative chasing game that is perfect for end-of-day energy. Base camp is packed up. The fire is washed out. Our artwork is dry and our boots muddy.

WHITTLING | learning precision and finding our strength

We love handing a child a knife and teaching them to use it with care.

At Nature Play, children learn to whittle - how to hold the blade, how to read the grain of the wood, how to carve with intention and respect. It's slow work. It requires focus, patience, and trust in their own hands.

Whittling teaches more than bushcraft. It builds fine motor skills, concentration, and a quiet confidence that comes from creating something useful with your own two hands. When a child shapes a wand, a spear, or a simple tool from a piece of wood, they're learning they're capable of far more than the world often allows them to be.

TERM 3 SESSIONS | late winter seasonal cycle now open

🌼 BUSH PLAY
Ages: 0–6 + caregivers
Sessions: 10am–12pm in Nowra

A slow, sensory-rich nature playgroup where young children and their families settle into the rhythm of the bush. Over a 5-week seasonal cycle, little ones climb, dig, collect, and follow their curiosity through open-ended play. Guided gently by mentors, they build confidence, motor skills, and a deep connection to the natural world - all at their own pace.

🌳 BUSH TRIBE
Ages: 4–14
Sessions: 9:30am–2pm

A day of nature play and environmental education immersed in bushcraft, tool use, fire skills, navigation, ecology, and collaborative building. Across a 5-week cycle, the Tribe learns with the land, builds resilience and independence, and grows friendships through long stretches of child-led outdoor play.

Both programs follow a seasonal rhythm, inviting children to learn with the land and grow wild.

COLLABORATIVE ADVENTURE | where children become builders, makers, and explorers

Together, they create a village from scratch. Shelters are built. Tools are whittled. Clay vessels are shaped by hand. Fishing rods and bush tools come to life. Wood is gathered, fire is learned, and animal tracks are followed through the bush.

This isn't a craft session - it's a real, hands-on experience where children work together, solve problems, and discover what they're capable of when given space, time, and trust.
