After two outstanding years at the helm of the Coromandel Cricket Club A Grade side, Jai Koirala has made the decision to step down as A Grade Captain in the lead up to the 2026/27 season.

A captaincy tenor that will forever be remembered as a significant chapter in our club’s history.

In 2024, JK led the A Grade side to premiership glory, delivering Coromandel its first Section 1 premiership in 69 years. It was a moment that will live long in the memory of everyone connected with the club and a testament to the leadership, commitment and belief JK brought to the role.

Beyond the results, JK has led with passion, pride and a genuine commitment to his teammates and the Coromandel Cricket Club. JK’s contribution to the A Grade side over the past two seasons has been immense.

JK will continue to play on at Coromandel this season and in many seasons to come as he will play a huge role in our continued quest for glory.

The club is pleased to announce that former skipper, Jack Walton, will take over as A Grade Captain for the 2026/27 season.

Pre-season training is starting this Sunday, and we’re excited to get back on the field. With six sessions locked in, now’s the time to mark your calendars and get ready for the season ahead.

Leading the way in A Grade for the 2026/27 season will be none other than Jai Koirala! 🐐 🐐

Jai’s record at Coro speaks for itself — 25 seasons, 291 games, 6,792 runs, 212 wickets and 3 premierships. An incredible contribution to the club over many years.

As an A Grade Premiership Captain, multiple-time batting and fielding trophy winner, CCC Life Member and ASCA Life Member, Jai brings a huge amount of experience and leadership to the table.

With plenty of success already behind him, we’re excited to see what Jai and the A Grade side can achieve in 2026/27! 🏆
