What a beautiful afternoon celebrating our four dancers as they prepare to take the stage at the Youth America Grand Prix this week! 🩰💜

Today’s showing gave our families the opportunity to watch the dancers take class together before performing their prepared classical and contemporary solos in costume — a lovely chance to share all the work that has gone into preparing for this experience.

We are so proud to have four of our Cygnets dancers representing Glenbrook Ballet Theatre at YAGP this year.

Wishing Maggie, Lillian, Amisha and Cooper the very best of luck as they compete this week! ✨

It was so lovely to see everyone walk into the exam room with such beautiful smiles, confidence and enthusiasm — and come back out just as happy! 🩰

Exam day is about so much more than the result. It represents months of hard work, practice, perseverance and commitment, and we are so proud of everything our dancers have achieved along the way.

A huge thank you to our wonderful teachers for all the time, care and encouragement they have given our students in preparing for their exams, and of course to our amazing dance families for everything you do behind the scenes to support them.

🩰 A new pointe journey begins…

These dancers went home today with something a little special — their very own GBT Pointe Preparation & Assessment Program folders. 💜

We’ve been working behind the scenes to develop our very own, comprehensive and individual approach to preparing our students for pointe, bringing together more than 20 years of experience preparing young dancers for this important milestone, along with input from physiotherapy and dance medical professionals.

Inside their folders, our dancers have everything they need to begin working towards pointe — including their Pointe Passport, strengthening program and Exercise Library.

But perhaps the most important thing we want them to learn is that pointe isn’t a race.

There is no magic age, no single test and no need to compare your journey with the dancer beside you.

Some will be ready sooner. Some will need a little more time to build strength, control and confidence.

And that’s okay. 💜

Because being ready for pointe is the achievement — not simply getting the shoes. 🩰✨

We can’t wait to support these dancers through the journey!

A huge congratulations to our Cygnets students, Paige (Cygnets L1) and Josephine (Cygnets L2), who travelled all the way to Perth to compete at the Aus Prix! ✈️🩰

The girls had an incredible experience, taking classes with the wonderful Mr Du as part of the competition before performing their classical solos alongside talented young dancers from across Australia.

A special congratulations to Josephine, who was awarded 8th Place in the highly competitive 7–8 Years category – a fantastic achievement! 👏

We are so proud of both girls for embracing this opportunity with enthusiasm, representing Glenbrook Ballet Theatre so beautifully, and gaining valuable experience on the national stage.

Congratulations, Paige and Josephine! We can’t wait to see how you continue to grow. 💜
