BROTHERS RUGBY CLUB SUNSHINE COAST | 2026 AGM

As we reflect on an incredible 2026 season, our attention turns to 2027 and the next chapter of Brothers Rugby Club Sunshine Coast. And to keep building on everything we’ve achieved, we need more people to get involved!

Our Annual General Meeting is approaching, with all committee positions open for nomination, alongside a range of volunteer opportunities.

From our Senior and Junior Presidents, Vice Presidents, Club Secretary and Treasurer through to sponsorship, fundraising, events, child safety, facilities, game day operations and more, there are plenty of ways to contribute. You don’t need to be a rugby expert or have years of committee experience to make a difference. Whether you’re great with numbers, enjoy organising events, have experience in business or administration, or simply want to lend a hand, there’s a place for you at Brothers.

As our club continues to grow, so does the work behind the scenes. We have exciting plans for 2027 and beyond, but achieving them takes people willing to contribute their time, ideas and experience. Even a small contribution can make a big difference.

To our current committee and volunteers, thank you for everything you’ve given throughout 2026. Now we’d love to welcome some new faces, fresh ideas and additional hands to help move our club forward.

As we reflect on another incredible year at Brothers Rugby Club Sunshine Coast, it’s time to start looking ahead to 2027 and the next chapter of our club’s journey.

Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is an opportunity for our members, families and supporters to come together, reflect on the year that was and help shape the future of Brothers.

Behind every rugby club is a group of people who give their time, energy and passion to make it all happen. From organising junior rugby and supporting our senior teams to sponsorship, events, facilities, administration and everything in between, there’s a lot that goes into making Brothers the club it is today. And as we continue to grow, so does the need for more people to get involved.

You don’t need to have years of committee experience, know every rule of rugby or have all the answers. You just need to care about our club, be willing to contribute and want to help make Brothers even better. Whether you’re interested in taking on a committee position, helping with a particular area of the club or simply lending a hand when you can, every contribution makes a difference and every bit of help is genuinely appreciated. If you’re interested in nominating for a position or would like to understand what’s involved, please reach out to us directly or have a chat with your closest committee member. We’d love to hear from you.

We’ve achieved some pretty special things together over the years, but there’s still so much more we can do.

The future of Brothers isn’t built by one person or one committee. It’s built by the people who care enough to get involved.

🔵⚪️🏉🏎️ FROM THE BARRACKS TO BATHURST | AAT TAKES ON THE MOUNTAIN!

Normally, we’re talking about tackles, tries and the Blue & White, but this weekend we’re swapping the rugby field for one of the most iconic race tracks in Australia!

A massive shout out to John and Mickheala Langmead from Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT), one of our major sponsors and fantastic supporters of Brothers Rugby Club Sunshine Coast, who are also backing Team Valvoline’s Car #34 at this year’s Bathurst 1000! 🏁🔥 With Car #34 starting from 21st on the grid, there’s plenty of work ahead as they take on the mountain at Mount Panorama.

It’s pretty special to see a business that invests so much into grassroots rugby on the Sunshine Coast also supporting motorsport at one of Australia’s biggest sporting events. John, Mickheala and the AAT team have been wonderful supporters of our club, helping us continue to grow, develop our programs and create opportunities for our players and families. And while we’re usually cheering them on from the sidelines at The Barracks, this weekend we’ll be cheering on Car #34 as it tackles the mountain! From junior rugby on the Sunshine Coast to the roar of engines at Bathurst, it’s great to see our Brothers family represented on such a big stage.

🔵⚪️ FROM BROTHERS TO THE TRANS TASMAN CUP! 🇦🇺🇳🇿🏉

What a fantastic morning of rugby at Caloundra for our Brothers U10 representatives, who took to the field as part of the AU Superstars against the Kiwis in a Trans Tasman Cup warm-up match!

With the Pacific Youth Rugby Carnival coming up towards the end of October, this was a brilliant opportunity for our young players to experience a different level of rugby, test themselves against international opposition and create some pretty special memories along the way.

And what an experience it was!

Before a ball was even kicked, the boys had the opportunity to stand together and face the Kiwi Haka. For a group of young rugby players, that’s one of those moments you don’t forget in a hurry. The intensity, the tradition, the pride and the anticipation of what was about to come. How good is rugby! 🇳🇿🔥

Once the whistle blew, it was an incredibly tight contest, with both teams going toe-to-toe in a tough, physical battle. Neither side was willing to give an inch, and despite plenty of effort and determination, the scoreboard remained locked at 0–0 midway through the third quarter.

Unfortunately, an injury brought the game to an early conclusion, with the match officially finishing as a draw. We hope the injured player is doing well and wish them a speedy recovery.

While there wasn’t a winner on the scoreboard, there was certainly plenty to celebrate.

For our Brothers boys, this was another opportunity to grow as rugby players, experience something new, build confidence and represent themselves and our club with pride.

These are the experiences that make junior rugby so special. New teammates, new challenges, a bit of international rivalry and memories that will stay with them long after the final whistle.

A massive congratulations to all our Brothers U10 representatives on a fantastic effort and a hard-fought draw. You’ve done yourselves, your families and the Blue & White proud!

🔵⚪️ BROTHERS EVERYWHERE | EMERGING REDS AT BALLYMORE! 🏉🔥

Same club. Different jerseys. A little bit of friendly rivalry. 😂

What a fantastic day at Ballymore for three of our Brothers young guns, Riley Vivian, Xavier Anderson and Hudson Bourne, competing in the Emerging Reds U14 competition, with our very own Coach Tom Chamberlain also involved!

The only problem? They weren’t all on the same team!

Riley pulled on the Navy jersey, while Xavier and Hudson lined up for Gold, meaning our Brothers boys found themselves on opposite sides of the field for a change.

And what a contest it turned out to be! Navy led from the start and came away with a 45–27 victory, giving Coach Tom and Riley the bragging rights this time around. But the score doesn’t tell the whole story.

With Gold trailing 40–0 at halftime, they came out firing in the second half, showing some serious character, determination and fight to work their way back into the contest. Riley also managed to get himself across the try line for Navy! 🔥

For us at Brothers, this is what makes representative rugby so special.

Three mates who normally wear the same Blue & White jersey, suddenly competing against each other, challenging one another and gaining valuable experience at another level of the game.

And having Coach Tom there, sharing in the experience and celebrating the boys’ achievements, makes it even better.

It’s not just about the result. It’s about the opportunities, the development, the friendships and seeing our young players continue to grow.

Congratulations to Riley, Xavier, Hudson and Coach Tom! We’re incredibly proud of all four of you and the way you continue to represent Brothers Sunshine Coast.

Of course, we’re sure Coach Tom and Riley will be reminding the Gold boys about that scoreboard for a little while yet! 😉

Hayden Burnett and Jack Packer are pulling on the Queensland Country Colts jersey, with Jack earning the additional honour of captaining the side. An outstanding achievement and a fantastic recognition of his leadership, commitment and the respect he has earned along the way. Meanwhile, our very own Liam Jenkins is representing the Queensland Country Heelers, another well-deserved opportunity to showcase his ability at representative level.

Three players, two teams and one very proud rugby club!

We talk a lot about pathways at Brothers, and it’s moments like these that remind us why they matter. Watching our players develop through club rugby, earn representative opportunities and continue challenging themselves at higher levels is something we are incredibly proud of. These opportunities don’t just happen. They’re built on years of hard work, commitment, dedication and a genuine love for the game. And while they’re wearing Queensland Country colours this weekend, we know there’s plenty of Brothers Blue & White going with them.

Hayden, Jack and Liam, congratulations, gents! Enjoy the experience, represent with pride, play some great footy and make the most of every opportunity.

🔵⚪️🔵 NEXT STOP | EMERGING REDS U14 🏉🔥

Another exciting weekend of rugby ahead for three of our Brothers young guns!

A massive congratulations to Xavier Anderson, Hudson Bourne and Riley Vivian, who have earned selection to compete in the Emerging Reds U14 competition this weekend! What a fantastic achievement for these three young men, and another well-deserved opportunity to test themselves, develop their skills and compete alongside and against some of Queensland’s best emerging rugby talent. We’ve watched these boys continue to grow through our junior program, putting in the work, showing dedication to their rugby and making the most of the opportunities that come their way.

And that’s what makes these selections so special. They don’t just happen. They’re earned through the hours at training, the commitment to improving and the willingness to keep challenging themselves.

At Brothers, we love seeing our young players take these next steps. It’s what our pathways are all about, giving kids the opportunity to grow, develop and see just how far their rugby journey can take them.

Xavier, Hudson and Riley, congratulations on your selection. Enjoy the experience, back yourselves, play some great footy and most importantly, have fun!

🔵⚪️🔵 JUNIOR AWARDS 2026 | CELEBRATING OUR NEXT GENERATION

What a season for our Brothers juniors.

Our Junior Awards are an opportunity to recognise some outstanding individual achievements, but more importantly, to celebrate the players, teams, coaches, volunteers and families who make our junior program what it is.

From our youngest U7s beginning their rugby journey, through to our U15s and Girls 7s players continuing to take the next steps in theirs, 2026 has been another year of growth, friendships, development and plenty of great rugby.

Congratulations to every player recognised with a team award this season. Best & Fairest, Coaches Awards, Most Improved, Team Person, Best Backs and Best Forwards all recognise different contributions, and every one is something to be proud of.
