REWARDING ROLEY 💚 Matilda, from The Official Chelsea Pony Club, VIC, shares her inspiring journey with her 19-year-old, 16.2hh Heritage Stock Horse, and why he deserves to be our Horse of the Week. Here’s her story:
"My journey with Roley started about 3 or 4 years ago. He came to us as a horse who had only been on trail rides at a walk/trot, and as far as I know, didn’t jump.
"I was 12 or 13 when we got him and I had a few rides on him before I lost my confidence and stopped riding him. He would run around the arena with his head up in the air like a giraffe and wouldn’t stop no matter what.
"With a newfound confidence, I decided to get back on Roley after a while and try again. Fast forward to today we have come so far, you wouldn’t even know it’s the same horse!
"I recently started representing Chelsea Pony Club at showjumping comps and shows. 12yo me would never have imagined I would be doing anything like this with Roley.
"I love him to bits (even though he can be a pain in the bum sometimes) but every high and low we’ve had has taught us so much."
🙌 Thank you, Matilda, for sharing Roley’s story! Your journey is a reminder of the rewards that come from sticking with it, even through tough times. An inspiring message for anyone facing challenges with their horses—keep going, and trust the process. Well done, and keep up the amazing work!

Dear Public,
Lately we have arrived to visit our horses to find bales of hay dumped at our paddock and at times - like today - we have arrived to find our horses eating grass clippings that have been dumped over the fence, into the paddock.
We can not stress enough that
^ GRASS CLIPPINGS CAN KILL OUR HORSES ^
The fermentation process that happens to cut grass will give horses a condition called ‘Colic’.
Colic often requires surgery and can even lead to death in horses.
Our horses are all very happy eating the lovely grass in their paddocks.
So please, no dumping of any hay, grass clippings, bread or the like.
We love seeing our horses interact with passers by on the path 🫶🏼
Horse welfare is paramount.
Kindness,
The horses, ponies and humans at
Chelsea Pony Club
