The David Corcoran Memorial Award
Club Person of the Year

In March of 2026, Boorowa Rugby lost one of its all-time legends in David Corcoran. 'Croc' was the ultimate clubman, serving as Captain/Coach, President, Secretary, Life Member and even sports reporter known as 'The Black Dot' throughout his time with the club. Dave was also a deserved recipient of the Club Person of the Year in 2020.

The Boorowa Rugby Club has now named the Club Person of the Year Award after Dave, which will stand as an honour of the highest order within the club.

Last night, the David Corcoran Memorial Award was presented by his eldest son Andrew, and awarded to Phoebe McGrath for her tireless work for the club in 2026, through her Ladies Day organisation (raising over $41,000 for the Player Injury Fund and Nathan Stapleton), her management of the canteen throughout the season, and creating fantastic media content that reached far and wide. Congratulations Phoebe, Dave would be so proud of your input to our club this year.

During 'Old Boys Day' earlier in the season, the Goldies had the honour of receiving their playing jerseys from Dave's son Tim, a dominant centre in his own right and one of BRU's staunchest supporters. This was a moving and emotional moment for all in the sheds that day and one that drove the boys' performances throughout 2026.

With the Men in Gold winning the Premiership in the toughest of contests with Harden on Grand Final Day, there is no doubt that Dave was with the boys, and would have had a smile from ear to ear in the spirit that the contest was played, and the community spirit on show.

We miss you Croc, the 2026 season was for you.

2026 GOLDIES BEST & FAIREST

Patty Johnson

An absolute force in the competition, and you won't find a better 15 anywhere in the South-West. Patty scored a whopping 17 tries this season, and was always the opposition's player to try and shut down. Plenty of toe, skill and huge 1 on 1 defensive hits. In a premiership season that had 5 or 6 players in contention for this award, Patty did it all.

Congratulations Patty - that 15 jersey is in safe hands for many years to come.

GOLDILOCKS BEST & FAIREST

Sienna Reid

A weapon on and off the field for the Goldilocks. Sienna was the glue every week for the girls in a difficult season. Loves a hard run, finds the try line and backs up each and every time. Coaches Kimbo and Greggy admire her effort on the field and improvement over the last few seasons, a well deserved Best and Fairest for 2026.

Congratulations Sienna, plenty more seasons in the Gold Cotton ahead.

Goldies – Back to Back Premiers

Well, apologies for the delay – there’s been a little bit on over the last couple of days in 2586.

It was a match for the purists on Saturday at the Showground. A Grand Final re-match that lived up to all hype.

A low-scoring affair absolutely dominated by forward play, plenty of set pieces and ruthless defence from the piggies.
Scoring was opened by a Harden penalty about 20 minutes in, and James Green answered right back about 10 minutes later to level the scores. As the clock wound down to half-time, the Goldies made a run from halfway, piggie after piggie picking and driving towards the tryline. Eventually, Harden’s defence lapsed for only a second to allow George Chudleigh to slam down a 5 pointer on the bell. Greeny added the extra 2 to make it 10-3 to Goldies at the break.

The first 20 mins of the second half was all Gold – but Harden just refused to let them in. Huge defence from the Red-Devils meant that Boorowa camped in the Harden half, with a strong wind behind them – but came up donuts on the scoreboard. As the minutes ticked away, it looked as though Harden were going to answer back – and they did through a try right on the eastern touchline. A missed conversion kept the Gold lead at 10-8. Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like days. Time expired and Ref Choppy held the premiership on his watch. Harden kept going, attempting to pilfer to get their opportunity. It looked odds on that the Red-Devils were going to sn**ch it at the last minute – and then Poppy grabbed the ball from the base of a ruck and kicked arguably the worst kick in sports history, thankfully it dribbled over the line, the whistle blew and the crowd erupted.

All men in gold were huge, but it was a day for the forwards. Full credit has to go to Harden, as they shut down the Goldies biggest weapons so well (scrum, lineout and Patty J at 15).

George Chudleigh was aptly awarded the Player of the Grand Final for his try – but don’t discount James Green’s 2 from 2 with the boot that ultimately was the difference.

Celebrations went long, and went hard.

Thank-you to everyone that contributed - what a day.
