Why yoga in nature is particularly good!
I’m at firm believer in immersing yourself in nature as much as possible.

For more than 20 years, Japanese immunologist Dr. Qing Li has studied how spending time in forests affects the human body. His research found that time spent among trees can increase the activity of natural killer (NK) cells, immune cells that help the body fight virus-infected and cancerous cells. Some studies reported increases of around 50% following forest bathing.

One possible explanation is phytoncides, natural compounds released by trees to protect themselves from insects and microorganisms. Research suggests that breathing in these compounds may influence immune activity.

Li also found that forest walks were associated with lower cortisol levels, blood pressure and heart rates compared with walks in urban environments, suggesting that spending time in nature can help reduce stress.

The benefits appear to come from a combination of factors, including the forest's natural chemistry and the calming effects of nature on the nervous system.

Nature is a valuable complement to a healthy lifestyle. Spending time among trees may support several biological processes involved in stress regulation and immune function.

Today, people spend much of their lives indoors, often limiting their exposure to natural environments. Making time to walk among trees may be a simple way to reconnect with nature and support overall well-being.

At today’s Laugh n Yoga session at Robelle Domain, we celebrated National Day of Curious events which is celebrated on 9 October every year!
Our theme was Queensland and Australia’s weirdest history and unexplained mysteries.
We inducted our ourselves into a secret detective society and then examined quite a few unexplained or weird events that happened in Australian history, including Ludwig Leichhardt’s expedition of 1848 and his disappearance - seven men, 50 bullocks 20 mules and hundreds of sheep vanished without a trace so we went looking for them! We also looked into the monster bite at Inskip Point near Rainbow beach, we investigated the phenomenon of Min Min lights, the South Kolan craters near Bundaberg the disappearance of Prime Minister Holt and the Westall UFO incident, the Marree Man Geoglyph in outback South Australia and the Wolf Creek crater in Western Australia. We finished off with a beautiful grounding meditation imagining ourselves at Paronella Park in far North Queensland!

Join us next week from nine till 9:45 am at The Lawn in Robelle Domain parklands Springfield Lakes.

Register through the council active and healthy app and bring your willingness to improve your health and well-being with intentional laughter! No need for jokes, you don’t even need to feel happy or be in a good mood. We can change that for you. Ho ho ha ha ha!🤣 🤠😂😍🙌🏻👌🤭🥳
